Chapter 46

I let go of Chuck and started at my blood stained hands. They were shaking profusely. I grabbed onto his shoulders and shook him.

"No, no, no. Chuck, please!" I screamed. A strong pair of arms grabbed me by my waist and pulled me back with much struggle. "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry," I repeat over and over as I let Oscar pull me away. "This is all my fault," I sobbed. Oscar turned me around and grabbed my face gently. Tears were also flowing freely from his eyes.

"Hey listen," he said, looking into my eyes which were probably bloodshot. "This isn't your fault."

"Yes it is," I whispered. "If I would have told you from the start, if I wouldn't have left, this wouldn't have happened and he would still be alive." I continued to apologize over and over as Oscar just held me. His tears fell onto me but I couldn't care less. I let the sparks that danced between us comfort me.
