Chapter 12

"We will," my father assured. He lent over and kissed my mother's forehead before landing a kiss on her lips. I scratched the back of my neck awkwardly. Seeing your parents kissing is pretty awkward sometimes. When they finished, my father turned to me and nodded. He started walking in the rest of the way down the stairs and I followed him. We went outside and climbed into the black SUV that we rarely used since we always went places in our wolf forms.

My father dug his hand into his pocket and took out a key. He stuck it into the key hole and turned it. The car roared to life. Without hesitation, he backed out of the spot where the car was parked and got onto the road.

"You aren't going to tell mom?" I asked my father, minutes into the drive.
