Chapter 3

Nibbling on a small tomato piece, I looked toward Reeko who did the same. We both frowned as we silently ate. Aunt Selene wore the same expression as my mother, they both looked awkward, because usually, Reeko and I would be shouting words at each other, but we were not allowed to talk, so we stayed silent.

My father was eating his food like he hadn't eaten in days; well, all the males ate like that on our table. The whole pack stayed quiet when we cleaned our plate.

I turned to go to my room, but my father stood in my way. "Yes, dad?" I asked.

"Did you go for a run yet?" He asked me, and I inwardly groaned. Dad always made me run, and he trains me at times, which I really hate, because I knew I was good. My mother always encouraged me too, because she said that in her past she did not know how to fight and had faced many bad situations, which she chooses not to tell me till 'it's time!'
