After Cassie washed up and went downstairs, she realized the living room was silent as if a needle could be heard clearly when it fell on the ground. The atmosphere was tense.
"What's wrong?" She looked at Mrs. White's solemn expression and had a nasty feeling.
Mrs. White looked at Cassie was hesitated to speak. Finally, Mr. White asked, "Were you with Archer last night?"
Cassie was startled when she heard Mr. White's question.
Looking at Mr. and Mrs. White's expression, she knew that they had already known.
But how did they know? Did they see Archer when he left there?
Cassie didn't want to lie to them. She lowered her head and said truthfully, "Yes. He got drunk last night. I couldn't contact his assistant, so I let him stay here all night. I'm sorry..."
Mr. White closed his eyes and said, "The person you are sorry for is not us, but yourself!"
Cassie felt something was wrong. "What do you mean?"
