Chapter 4 Can You Call Me Elder Sister?

Alyssa's expression changed. At that time, Darren had already slapped Giana hard on the cheek.

"What are you talking about? You hit a man to death with a car. You've been in prison and our family's reputation has been ruined by you. You have no bright future. Do you still want to destroy your sister's bright future?" Darren scolded.

His eyes were full of disgust for this daughter. Thinking about how honorable he was among relatives and friends when their family built a connection with the Hawthorn family, how shameful he was now!

Giana's face was hot and hurt, but her eyes were still calm. It seemed that she didn't care at all.

"I just wanted to come here to offer incense to my mother to mourn her, but now it seems that there is no need to offer her incense here anymore. I will never step in here."

After saying this, Giana turned around and left her former home.

This "home" no longer had a place for her.

——

When Giana returned to the rental room, the rental room was completely dark and the lights were off. She turned on the light. The room was fairly cold and silent.

In a room of about ten square meters, it could be seen at a glance that there was no one in the room.

Was Kason gone? She suddenly felt a little deserted. It turned out that in the end, she was still alone!

Giana smiled bitterly and was about to turn around and close the door. But when she saw a figure slowly walking toward her, she froze.

It was Kason!

He was still wearing the shabby clothes as yesterday, carrying a bag in his hand. His thick bangs almost covered the upper part of his face, making it almost impossible to see his appearance clearly at a glance. But she knew that under those bangs was a stunning face.

Was such a person really a homeless person?

In fact, she didn't know him well at all. She didn't even know him at all. She knew that she was impulsive to take him here. Maybe it was dangerous, but she just couldn't contain this thought.

Maybe it was right, humans were social animals.

"I'm back." His voice was cold but dulcet.

Her throat suddenly became hot, and her voice was a little choked, "I... I thought you weren't coming back."

He stared at her, "I just went out to buy something."

She turned around quickly, pulled him into the room, and closed the door. She saw two snow-white steamed buns in the bag he was holding.

She smiled lightly and felt relaxed a lot.

"Let's eat together. But before we eat it, I... wanted to offer incense to my mother. Today is the anniversary of my mother's death." Giana said. She took out the red candles and incense bought on the road from his bag and put them on a photo frame.

Inside the frame was a black-and-white photo of a woman. The woman in the photo was only around 30, and she looked gentle and soft.

She lit candles and incense, held the incense, and respectfully bowed three times to the photo.

"Mom, I started a new life now. I'm doing well. I now have a job where I can support myself. The income is enough to support me. You can rest assured. In the future, I will live better and better."

Standing aside, Kason looked at the woman in front of him. She smiled but her charming eyes contained a faint mist, and the mixed light and shadow of candlelight and lamplight reflected her face.

She had curved willow-leaf eyebrows, a small nose, and pink lips which are moderately thick. She was not bad-looking. However, Kason had seen too many beauties. His fiancée Zoe was a rare beauty. To Kason, Giana was just ordinary.

He had learned her information, so he knew that today was the death anniversary of her mother. The woman who just came out of prison was doing a job of sweeping the road. But said she live a good life. Was she serious?

"Besides, there is still someone living with me now." She continued to say something in a soft tone. Then she turned her head and looked at him. Under the shadow of lights and candles, it was quiet. It seemed that she was a little gratified.

It was as if his existence was a kind of satisfaction to her. Then for a moment, she turned her head and looked at the woman in the photo again, "So, I'm really fine, Mom, you can rest assured."

After saying this, she bowed three times respectfully, then inserted the incense, and then stood quietly, looking at the photo in the photo frame.

About 15 minutes later, the incense burnt out, Giana blew out the candles, and said to Kason, "Okay, I'll clean up and cook some soup. Let's have dinner together."

"Yeah." He answered.

She quickly packed up her things, then took out an egg and a tomato from the refrigerator, and quickly cooked an egg and tomato soup. They also ate the steamed stuffed buns.

"By the way, Kason, what did you do before?" Giana asked while eating.

"I did everything. When there was some work, I did it. When there was no work, I always find a place to rest," he said.

Rest? Staying motionless on the road like yesterday? He must have suffered a lot, otherwise, no one would sit on the street on a winter night, right?

"So how old are you?" she asked again.

"27," he said.

"We are the same age." She said in surprise, "Then when were you born?"

"November."

"I'm in July, so I'm still a few months older than you." Giana said, "You don't have families, and I don't have any families. Why don't you call me Sister from now on? I will treat you as a brother. What do you think?"

"Sister?" He smiled lightly. No one had ever dared to be Kason's sister, but this woman said bluntly that she wanted to be his sister.

If she knew who he was, would she still dare to say something like this?

Actually, it was interesting in that she didn't know who he was.

"Can't you?" Her eyes dimmed.

When her mother died, she was only 3 years old. She only knew that her mother had an accidental miscarriage and died after resuscitation. She had heard that the child was 6 months old and was a boy. It was bad that he only lived for 10 minutes.

If that boy survived, he would be her younger brother. Maybe she wouldn't be as lonely as she was now!

"Are you sure you really want to be my elder sister?" He asked suddenly.

She looked up abruptly and met his charming eyes behind the bangs. His eyes were extremely clear, yet they seem to be densely foggy.

"Hmm." She responded.

"But I don't have a fixed place to live, and I don't have a fixed job. I can't even be self-sufficient in basic life. Why do you want to be my elder sister?"
