Collin was frightened while defending against the menacing opponent. He had been attacked in these years, and he was not surprised to be blocked at the door of his house. What surprised him was that the person entered his house without alarming anyone.
It was dark all around, and the sound of clothing rubbing against Collin's face was accompanied by the wind of fists. The person punched toward his face hard. Collin was at a disadvantage as it happened suddenly, and he didn't know how many people were in the room. When he realized that there seemed to be only one person, he began to transform passivity into initiative.
Both of them kept silent, but they both hit each other hard.
As Collin was familiar with this room, he grabbed something on the table during the fight and slammed it at the person's face. It was a tie that he had decided to change out when he went out in the morning. The tie whistled out with wind. The person obviously didn't expect it and paused in place.
Collin seized the chance and grabbed the person's arm. He wanted to break it, and he had prepared to use his strength, but the slenderness of the person's arm surprised him. It was thin and was not as tight as men's.
With the left arm being clamped, the person subconsciously raised her right fist, but Collin had approached her. He quickly grabbed her and pushed her against the wall. The person was like a wolf caught in a trap, struggling fiercely but not making a sound.
In the darkness, Collin spoke first. "Renata."
His tone sounded like a pure statement.
As Renata was pressed against the wall, the coldness of the mirror on the wall spread to her body instantly through her shirt, just like the scorching heat in front of her. When Collin moved, her whole body was hot. He pressed Renata hard. Renata gritted her teeth but was unable to move at all.
Both of them moved and paused from time to time. Their hearts beat fast, and their breathing was heavy. Collin lowered his head. His voice sounded a little sarcastic and playful. "What kind of trick is this? Do you regret divorcing me?"
Renata said, "I regret that I didn't kill you."
Collin couldn't see the hatred on her face but could hear the ruthlessness in her tone. Instead of being angry, he smiled and said, "That's a little ungrateful to say that. I took a lot of effort to prepare a birthday gift for you."
"Don't you like it?" Collin was good at adding fuel to the fire.
Renata was enraged, and Collin felt he couldn't pin her against the wall for a moment. Renata's left arm was clamped by him. This was a position that could easily break her arm, but Renata didn't care about it and struggled violently. Collin suddenly let go of her and dodged. Otherwise, his nose might be smashed by her.
A new round of fight brewed silently. They fought from the narrow entrance to the spacious living room. As Renata was furious, she became more raged after being provoked by Collin. She kept punching toward him, and he was scratched by her fist twice. Collin also became angry. He said, "You also have your dignity. Then why did you cuckold me?"
Renata kicked without hesitation. "You were planning to cheat on me three months ago. Do you think I don't know?"
Collin blocked Renata's fist and said, "You were planning for divorce half a year ago, and you want to cheat on me to make me the laughingstock of Mondousville!"
Renata said sarcastically, "It's you who wants me to be a laughingstock! Which bastard promised me a year ago that I have half shares of Sunshine Garden Resort?
"Who didn't follow the rules at the beginning?
"Who put his men in the project under the title of a government?
"Who played me around like a fool?"
Every time Renata asked, she punched harder than the last time. She held back the anger for half a year but still couldn't get over it. Collin used to be faithful and thoughtful to Renata before the marriage. Everyone in Mondousville thought he really liked her, and even Renata was a little suspicious.
When Renata recalled it now, she felt she was too naive.
As Collin might be guilty or careless, he was forced by Renata to retreat and tripped on the edge of the carpet, and he staggered. Although a gentleman should not take advantage of others' weaknesses, Renata rushed forward to kick Collin hard.
Collin blocked her kick with his arms, but his body could no longer stand still. He fell on the sofa, which must be embarrassing even though the light was not turned on.
Collin, who grew up in a decent and respectable family and had never suffered such humiliation, was locked in his own home and beaten badly.
Seeing Renata was about to come over and hit him again, Collin struggled to sit up in shock. He endured the pain of being kicked by her again and grabbed Renata tightly. They tangled together and rolled from the sofa to the carpet. The coffee table was almost overturned by them.
After a scuffle, the bright night view outside the big window slightly illuminated them, who were panting on the floor. Collin rode on Renata's waist, clasped her wrists, and looked down upon her.
They looked at each other with resentment.
Collin gritted his teeth and said, "Come on. Hit me!"
At this moment, he seemed to go back to eight months ago when he and Renata had just been married for less than four months. He saw that man appear in the country and saw Renata and him enter the same hotel. Renata and that man were supposed to never contact each other anymore.
Renata said she never wanted to see that man, but she still met him and lied to Collin.
Renata didn't know what was in Collin's mind. Seeing him gnashing his teeth, she didn't say a word and just glared at him.
Collin was silent for a while before speaking. "I agreed to let you have half shares of the project. If I didn't agree, would you marry my second brother or third brother? You know I don't get along well with them. It doesn't matter if I lose a little, but I won't let them take advantage of it.
"Don't talk about the rules with me. You know how many people Farley Group has secretly found to bid for Sunshine Garden Resort. You also wanted to arrange them in the project but failed. It doesn't mean you are a person of integrity.
"As for I treated you as a fool..."
Collin's voice was sarcastic. "Have we been married for so long that you forgot why we got married?"
Renata surely remembered it. The Farley family had a piece of land that was worthless in the early years, but it became very expensive because of the government's policy. The Farley family wanted to make a good plan, but the situation did not allow it. Everyone coveted this land and wanted to have a share of it. Renata could only make a quick decision, choose the most reliable partner, and make it final, so as not to worry about it.
As the saying goes, keep the goodies within the family. The Farley family would not choose an outsider as a partner. They chose Collin because the share ratio he proposed was most beneficial to the Farley family.
All businessmen cared about profit. They were always calculating and wouldn't be sincere with each other.
Renata glared at Collin and gradually calmed down from her anger. After a long while, she said, "You have to admit defeat. Since we're divorced, Ralph's share will be mine. We have nothing to do with each other from now on. Let go of me."
Hearing Renata's words, Collin didn't let go of her hands, and his face darkened. Renata saw his face clearly after he suddenly leaned over. He didn't wear glasses, and his eyes were full of sarcasm. "Why should I listen to you? Do you still think you are my wife?"
