"Sob... Oh, Master... You can't even hear me anymore..." Io continued crying as she thought her teacher no longer cared about her.
But Lyria, who heard this, immediately placed her hands on Io's shoulders and reassured her, "That's not true, Io. Your voice is reaching him. I'm sure of it."
Lyria told Io as she shouted for her teacher towards their golem, the golems seemed to react and pause briefly.
This meant that her teacher still cared about her, and the golem had no intention of harming Io, just targeting Lyria during their previous attack.
"It's okay! I'll help out if another machine monster appears! So don't cry, okay?" Djeeta approached Io and gently stroked her head, trying to mimic Rei's comforting gesture.
Io, upon hearing the words from Djeeta and Lyria, began wiping away her tears and stopped crying.
"You're both right... If my teacher still cares about me, then I will find him. And the first thing I'll do is beat him up so hard for making me cry constantly." Io clenched her fists and held onto her staff tightly.
"Okay... Thanks, Everyone." Io then thanked them all, looking at them with a serious expression.
Seeing this, Rei rubbed her head hard while messing up her hair.
"Hahaha, you kid shouldn't use that kind of look. Just leave it to us for now while you focus on beating down your teacher if we manage to find him."
Io, hearing Rei's words, looked annoyed once again and attempted to hit him. "Stop treating me like a child!"
"Hahahaha," everyone laughed as they watched Io chase after Rei and try to hit him.
'At least she's back to normal now' Rei thought as he ran, looking back and seeing Io's expression – though she's looks angry before, but at least now she's laughing too.
After that, they tried to see if there were any remnants of the golem that attacked them to take to Sierokarte.
Luckily, when the cave collapsed, some golem pieces were thrown out so they just needed to gather those pieces and then leave the island.
They then returned to Valtz Duchy and met with Sierokarte, informing her of what happened and asking her to examine the golem pieces they brought, maybe she could find something.
After handing over the golem pieces to Sierokarte, they started heading to the inn to rest because the events of the day had left them very tired.
Io appeared sleepy from continuous crying, so they agreed to rest early today and go to Sierokarte tomorrow to ask about what she found.
In the middle of the night, Rei suddenly woke up because he felt it was difficult to breathe. He then tried to see what was causing this, but when he opened his eyes, all he could see was a glimpse of something.
"...?" Rei looked at it with sleepy eyes, but after a few moments, he began to realize what he was seeing.
He realized that Djeeta was currently hugging his head while resting his head on her chest.
Rei could smell the soap scent from Djeeta's body, which made him wonder when Djeeta had the chance to take a bath.
He then tried to slowly release the hug so as not to wake Djeeta up. After a few moments of trying and replacing himself with a pillow for Djeeta to hug, he managed to free himself without waking up Djeeta.
"Ummm...." Rei heard Djeeta murmuring in her sleep as she felt her hug felt empty, but after Rei gave her a pillow, she immediately fell back asleep.
Seeing Djeeta asleep again, Rei stood up and looked around. He saw Vyrn still sleeping on a pillow on the small table, then he slowly left the room.
They rented three rooms for their stay here: one for himself, Djeeta, and Vyrn, another for Katalina, Lyria, and the last one for Rackam. But since Io joined them, she slept with Rackam.
At first, Rei suggested sharing a room with Rackam so each pair could have their own room, but Djeeta refused, saying that she was used to sleeping with the three of them together.
However, after the incident with Tiamat where both of them fell off the sky every night Djeeta would fall asleep hugging him while resting his head on her chest.
At first, Rei told Djeeta that it wasn't good, especially since he was a normal growing man. If he saw that every morning, he was afraid something might happen.
But when Djeeta heard this, she looked sad and her mood immediately dropped as if a dog had its toy taken away because they had played too much.
Finally, Rei gave in and let Djeeta hug him while they slept.
Rei then left the inn and headed to the place where he usually trained when they were on this island.
Sarwa Desert is a suitable place for Rei to train his powers because no one passes through there regularly and there are many empty spaces for him to practice his techniques.
Even though it was midnight, Rei still felt warm because of the abundant lava flowing within the island, and he also saw many houses still emitting smoke.
Whether they were still working or not, Rei didn't quite understand, what's important now is that he left the city.
After walking for a while, he finally arrived at the place where he usually trained on the island.
He saw many broken rocks and many craters from his attacks, but the craters seemed to be almost filled with sand that kept blowing in this desert.
He then stood there in silence, trying to focus and regulate his breathing...
Two black wings emerged from Rei's back and the aura he emitted became stronger.
His wings began to flap and he slowly started to fly.
After a few days of training to fly, he could finally fly even if only for a short time because he couldn't move his wings continuously.
Moving his wings felt strange to Rei, it felt like he had an extra pair of hands and he had to keep moving them constantly without stopping in order to fly.
He remembered that in the game Sandalphon he only needed to flap his wings once and he could fly immediately.
But for some reason, Rei had to keep flapping his wings continuously if he wanted to fly, maybe because Sandalphon has 6 wings and he only has 2.
Once he was higher off the ground, he opened his light blue eyes and observed his surroundings.
A magic circle began to appear behind his black wings and emitted a bright light.
"Paradise Lost"
A lot of rays of light came out of the magic circle and started to attack the sand on the ground.
Rei tried to control the rays of light, but it was really impossible for him because he could only control like 4 of them.
*Boom* *Boom* *Boom*
Many explosions could be heard, destroying the area around Rei and creating many craters in the sand.
But out of the many rays of light, only 4 remained, 4 that he successfully controlled and directed towards the large rocks around him.
*Boom*
After that, Rei repeated what he did until he could control more rays of light.
<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>
"Hahh... Hah....Hah..."
"I don't know how long I've been practicing to be able to control this Paradise Lost."
"I've stopped counting how many times I've used Paradise Lost today but I still could only control 4 rays of light out of dozens."
Rei then slowly began to descend back to the ground and as soon as he touched the sand beneath him, he immediately fell from exhaustion.
Using Paradise Lost multiple times really drained a lot of his energy, but he still wanted to try one more technique.
From the beginning, he was curious whether he could use this technique or not.
The strongest technique from Lucillus that ignores durability and negates immortality and resurrection.
Rei was truly a little scared of that technique because he could kill that immortal Primal Beast and prevent their resurrection if he could use it.
Rei then stand up and then closed his eyes and focused on his wings because he knew that in order to use that technique, he needed the power from his wings.
Although he had only seen Lucilius use it when he had 12 wings, he didn't know if his 2 wings could handle it.
He commanded his wings to release all their energy and the wind began to blow fiercely, even surpassing the desert wind.
The sand around Rei started to be blown away.
His body started to emit a thick black aura that was clearly visible even to ordinary people.
Rei's eyes began to glow blue, but since he was closing his eyes, the light from his eyes wasn't visible at all.
"Sephiroth.... Counting down 13 seconds."
Suddenly, a voice similar to Rei's could be heard, but that's definitely not him speaking at all because he was solely focused on his aura.
"12.....11.....10...."
The countdown starting and the aura emitted by Rei became even darker and his black wings started to emit an even brighter light.
"9...8.....7....."
The wind he released became stronger, blowing away all the sand around him and rocks started to be thrown from the surroundings.
"6....5.....4...."
The sky started to turn red and the clouds began to darken, then lightning appeared and seemed to strike around Rei.
"3....2....1....."
The island began to tremble, awakening all the residents nearby, even the Archduke who was currently underground looked confused about what was happening.
He thought the Colossus he was trying to awaken had been successful, but after seeing that the Colossus was still asleep, he became even more confused about what was happening.
Djeeta and the others woke up and left the inn to see what was happening.
"Djeeta! What's happening, everything is shaking like this!? It feels like the island is about to collapse!" Katalina shouted as she saw Djeeta outside when she left the inn with Lyria.
"I don't know, Katalina, and Rei is missing from his room, so Vyrn is looking for his whereabouts." Djeeta answered Katalina, shaking her head.
"Kyaaaa!" many buildings collapsed due to the increasingly violent tremors, and many Draphs came out of their homes looking panicked.
"0..... The End"
Rei's countdown ended and a very bright light appeared that could illuminate the entire Phantagrande Skydom.
"Alright, that's enough."
Suddenly, Rei heard a voice that he felt he had heard before, and suddenly all his powers disappeared.
Rei immediately fell because his body couldn't move at all due to exhaustion.
"Why did you use that technique even though you can't control this power yet?" Rei heard the voice scolding him.
He tried to move his head and see who was speaking, but all he could see was her very long blue hair.
Seeing that, Rei immediately remembered the incident when he fainted in Zinkenstill and met two people in his dream.
He remembered that one of the two people was a woman with very long blue hair like this.
The woman then approached Rei and touched his back, causing the 12 wings on his back to disappear.
Yes 12 wings, for some reason when Rei used that technique, the restraints placed on his body immediately breaking and he could use all of Lucilius' wings.
After repairing the restraints on Rei's body, the woman then stroked his head that still on the ground, and he seemed to be looking at her hair that touching the ground.
"Fufufu... your hair is still the same," he heard the woman speak again.
"Listen, until you can control this power, don't use this technique again," the woman advised Rei before she stood up and flicked her fingers.
After that, everything turned dark.
"Rei.....Rei.....Wake up Rei."
Rei felt his body being gently shaken, prompting him to open his eyes.
He saw that he was in his room at the inn, with Djeeta waking him up.
"Finally, you're awake. Let's go, Rei, don't forget we have to go to Sierokarte to check if she has found something from the Golem fragments we gave her."
After waking Rei up, Djeeta then went to Vyrn who was still asleep and woke him up too.
Upon seeing this, Rei sat up immediately and looked around, bewildered by how he suddenly ended up here.
As far as he remembered, last night he was training, and suddenly passed out when he was about to use "The End."
"Don't use it again." Suddenly, Rei heard a voice that made him turn to the side.
But he didn't see anyone beside him, making Djeeta, who saw Rei suddenly looking to the side, confused.
"Rei, what's wrong? Are you still half-asleep? Come on, let's get up, we need to have breakfast first."
Djeeta then sat down and fixed her hair, while Vyrn also started to wake up.
"Good morning, Rei.... Djeeta," Vyrn said while rubbing his eyes.
"Good morning, Vyrn," Djeeta replied to Vyrn while combing her hair.
"Good morning... Vyrn," Rei also replied to Vyrn, but his tone sounded low and hesitant, as if he were pondering something.
"Hey Djeeta, Vyrn.... do you remember anything from last night?" Rei asked them both.
"Last night? Didn't we fall asleep since the evening, so last night I was sleeping," Vyrn answered Rei while stretching his body.
"Yes, I was also sleeping last night. What are you talking about, Rei?" Djeeta turned to Rei.
Seeing that they both didn't remember what happened last night made him wonder if it was just a dream. But that couldn't be it because he remembered using Paradise Lost multiple times.
But his memories became more vague when he tried to remember what happened when he was about to use "The End."
Djeeta then stood up after fixing her hair and walked towards Vyrn to place him on top of her head.
"I'll go downstairs first, Rei. If you're done waking up, we'll be waiting for you downstairs," Djeeta then left the room and headed downstairs for breakfast.
Alone in his room, Rei finally decided to stop thinking about it and would check his training place later to see what happened.
He finally got up, washed his face a few times, and followed Djeeta downstairs.
