Chapter 10: Negotiation Part2(Edited)

After considering Alan's condition of being the producer, Frank's only thought was how to make Alan forget this crazy idea.

Alan also knew that unless Frank was crazy, he wouldn't let himself be the producer. So, he immediately proceeded with his plan. He said, "Mr. Frank, how about this? What do you think about a gamble?"

Hearing what Alan said, Frank frowned, not understanding the meaning. Alan continued, "I will bet all the copyright of my book. I want Columbia Pictures to help me find a director, a good director who will film as I envision. After all, I have the image of my work in my mind."

"Of course, Columbia Pictures will assist with other aspects, and I will invest my money so that even if things don't go well, you will not lose money. If the film's box office exceeds $100 million domestically, then everything will proceed as normal."

"However, if the film's box office is under $100 million in the USA, then all the copyright belonging to this book will be yours. I don't want to discuss other terms, as I am not a businessman."

"This is my bottom line, and I will retain 20% of the global box office due to the copyright. Ideas, production, and special effects will be overseen by me. The rest belongs to you, whether you accept it or not."

Even though Alan had told her about his gambling plan, Alice still couldn't help but be surprised and showed a slight smile.

As for Frank, he was tempted by the offer because he knew that writing and filming were two completely different things. But he remained calm and asked his doubts, "Since you have these conditions, why don't you produce the film yourself and then give it to us for publication?"

Alan replied, "I don't have time to waste, and it'll save me some trouble. More importantly, I have confidence in my work. I know that after seeing the finished product, you will not offer me these favorable conditions."

After hearing Alan's answer, Frank smiled, thinking that Alan was in a period of creation and would produce some good work in the future.

At the same time, he lamented that the young man still didn't understand how the world worked. So, he decided to act as if he were doing Alan a favor and said, "Alan, your conditions are really hard to satisfy. You've made things difficult for me, as I am optimistic about you. So, how about this? You give me some time to convince the board of directors of the company."

Frank finished speaking, making it seem like it was genuinely difficult to convince the board of directors, but he would do it for Alan.

How could Alice not understand Frank's thoughts? But she decided to let Alan handle the rest himself, and she would educate him about this.

Alan had already understood Frank's thoughts, but he pretended not to understand and said, "Then I will wait for your decision, Mr. Frank."

Frank smiled, "You don't need to be so polite, Alan. You can call me Frank. After the rest, I will inform you of the decision as soon as possible." Thinking that he had succeeded, Frank's smile deepened.

After dinner, they parted ways, and Alan went directly to the park to wait for Ama. After she arrived, he told her about how his book would be adapted into a film if everything went well. "I want you to play the role of Charmy Papiston, and I will play the role of Yuno."

After hearing Alan's request, Ama was surprised. After all, if she remembered correctly, Charmy didn't seem to be an important character in the book. Still, she decided to trust him and said, "Okay, after all, we've been studying acting for about a year now. When I return home, I will study her character."

Alan smiled at her. After all, he knew she would play a good role in the Elf Reincarnation arc. After publishing the book, which ended after the introduction of the background of the world and the dungeon exploration arc, Alan wanted to film the Royal Assault arc, in which Charmy would still not have many scenes.

He planned to use the stories of the Caligula series to teach Ama how to act. Thanks to the AI's theories of acting, he was among the best in the world. He knew that she would play an important role in his second role, so this film was, in short, her training ground.

Alan was enjoying his peaceful life, knowing that these were the last calm days of his life. He knew that after the contract was signed, his identity would be exposed, and from then on, he would be harassed by the paparazzi and reporters every day.

So, he was enjoying it, either by shopping with his mother or going out with Ama. He knew that these would be the last times they would be so calm and comfortable in their lives. After two weeks passed, Alan finally received the awaited call from Frank.
