Chapter 1: Prologue
Year 20XX, In a world where reality intertwines seamlessly with dreams, lies a phenomenon known as astral projection.
In the dawn of the new millennium, Astra a multi-trillion dollar company unveiled their magnum opus, an extraordinary game known as "Deep Dive." With a mere slumber and a ring called "Dream Catcher" forged by the hands of Astra's finest artisans, users could transcend the boundaries of reality. This enchanted ring, a marvel of technology and Mysticism, unlocked the dormant potential within, facilitating an Astral Projection of unparalleled proportions. All it required was for the wearer to don the ring as they drifted into the realms of sleep, seamlessly logging into the ethereal expanse of the game. Thus, a new frontier was born, where dreams became the gateway to unimaginable adventures and untold wonders.
In the real world, Ned was your average loser, 18 years of age, a shut in skinny nerd. He spent most of his time cooped up indoors, reading Manhwa and gaming. But then he stumbled upon a commercial for "Deep Dive," a VR game that looked mind-blowing. Ned was hooked.
To afford the game, he sold all off his prized possessions online, like sexy anime action figures, pokemän cards, manhwa books, and his anime pillow and katana collection. Then, after six long years, he stepped outside to get his hands on the Dream Catcher. But when he finally got home and tried to log in, he couldn't sleep from all the excitement.
Desperate to fall asleep, he tried everything from jerking off to hentai to considering sleeping pills. But he got scared for taking sleeping pills, worrying that it would kill him. As he went outside of his residence, he saw a big buffed-tattooed thug he thought that maybe he could knock his lights out in one swing as he went closer he saw the veins in his biceps throbbing, that scared the living hell out of Ned. Finally, he resorted to asking a random scrawny kid to knock him out for a few bucks. The random scrawny kid thought that this guy is crazy but still, he asked Ned to close his eyes for he might limp his swing halfway if he's looking at him. He picked his bag and equipped his golden brass knuckle and he poured all of his might in his swing and it knocked him out cold. It worked, but the kid ended up robbing him while he was out cold. Tough break for Ned.
