TWENTY FOUR: Sephora

I heard a door close behind me and sighed inwardly. Rising from the garden, I dusted my hands on my apron and made my way to the shed that Gillian had instructed me to use. Once inside, I changed into my day dress and left the apothecary.

I preferred to avoid awkward situations, and knowing that Prince Igor and Gillian were together in a locked room reminded me of what I had seen the last time I was snooping around the apothecary.

Igor and I were quite similar; we were both attracted to our own gender. While I had feelings for Aiyana and, oddly enough, Dori, he was drawn to Gillian. I had no idea if anyone knew about them, but I certainly wasn't going to reveal their secret.

He had confided in me that he had no interest in his betrothed, and it was easy to see that it was because he was homosexual. Was he as fearful of the repercussions as I was? Did he think it wasn't risky to hide in the apothecary with me around, or did he trust me that much?
