A Gentle Encounter: Zirui and Fubao's Bonding Moment

Mrs. Li was on the brink of shouting in disbelief: "What did you just say? Say it again!"

However, Huo Zirui seemed oblivious to the incredulity of the old lady Li. With gentle care, he extended his small hands and cradled Fubao tenderly.

Fubao couldn't quite fathom it – was her mother really entrusting her to him? The sight of those earnest hands reaching out to her, however, left her momentarily stunned.

As Huo Zirui's gaze locked onto her, Fubao felt an instinctual fear wash over her. His eyes seemed to pierce through her, reminiscent of a wolf eyeing its prey. She couldn't shake off the feeling that any moment now, he would pounce and devour her whole!

Even though he was just a child, Fubao couldn't shake off the sense of danger emanating from him. She didn't want him to hold her, and a subconscious urge to cry began to well up within her.

But then, she heard his soft voice whispering in her ear: "Little one, if you don't want to cause a commotion, it's best to hold back those tears."

Fubao was taken aback. Could this child really be so mature? His words were like a balm to her frayed nerves, instantly quelling the urge to cry.

In that moment of silence, Fubao found herself unable to articulate her thoughts. It was as if Huo Zirui's unexpected wisdom had rendered her speechless, halting the impending tears in their tracks.

"This... Is this child really only three years old? How could he say such a thing? It's too precocious!" Mrs. Li exclaimed, astounded by Huo Zirui's unexpected maturity.

As Huo Zirui held Fu Bao, he lifted her cherubic face to meet the gaze of his nervous mother, Jiang Lixia. With a flushed countenance, he confidently asserted, "Mom, I believe Fu Bao likes me very much. Look at how calmly she remains in my arms without shedding a tear."

Fubao's inner monologue echoed with incredulity, "Who likes you? Shameless!"

Observing the scene, Mrs. Li couldn't help but marvel at Huo Zirui's audacity. She found herself speechless as he continued to hold onto her daughter, seemingly oblivious to any signs of discomfort.

Turning to Lin Yanfen, Mrs. Li instructed, "Okay, Yanfen, please take Fu Bao back now."

Lin Yanfen, feeling a bit awkward, approached Huo Zirui and made a polite request, "Zirui, can you please hand Fu Bao over to Auntie?"

Huo Zirui, however, clung onto Fu Bao with determination, confessing, "I haven't had enough time with her yet."

The other boys in the room watched on, eager to intervene and reclaim Fu Bao for their own sister. Their heads turned towards Mrs. Li, silently pleading for her intervention.

Feeling increasingly embarrassed, Jiang Lixia scolded, "Zirui! Didn't you hear Aunt Lin asking you to give Fu Bao back? Just give her a hug. How long do you intend to hold her?"

Undeterred, Huo Zirui declared solemnly, "I want to take her home!"

Appalled by his audacious proposal, Jiang Lixia countered, "That's not possible! Fu Bao belongs to someone else's family. You can't just take her home!"

Unfazed, Huo Zirui continued, "Then can I marry her when I grow up?"

His forthright declaration left the room in stunned silence. Even the old lady Li felt at a loss, her frustration mounting.

Unable to contain her amusement, Jiang Lixia chuckled and crouched down to address her son, "Son, if you truly wish to marry Fu Bao when you grow up, then be patient. When the time comes, Mom will help you propose."

With a solemn nod, Huo Zirui agreed, sealing the deal with unwavering determination. "It's a deal," he affirmed.

"Alright. Now, can you please return Fu Bao to Aunt Lin?" Jiang Lixia requested.

Reluctantly, Huo Zirui handed Fu Bao back to Lin Yanfen. As she cradled Fu Bao once more, a tender moment ensued as Fu Bao nuzzled against her, enveloped in the warmth of her embrace.

Fu Bao was enveloped in the sheer bliss of being cradled within her mother's comforting arms, a sanctuary of love and security. However, before she could muster a response or fully relish the moment, an unexpected event occurred. She was Kissed again!

The Li family seethed with indignation.

This young lad from the Huo clan, evidently lacking in manners, dared to take liberties with Fu Bao's innocence! Despite the significance of the day's celebrations, their ire was not to be dismissed lightly.

But mark their words, for the next occasion, they vowed to bar his entry with unwavering resolve.
