Chapter 11: Money Debts

Just now, Qian Hui went to the restroom and she couldn't help but take it from her bag.

Just then, a nurse pushed the door open and stepped in, seeing the scene and stepping forward to stop her. "Smoking at a time like this, do you even care about your health anymore?"

Liang Shu smiled lightly, showing no sign of guilt on her face. "No, I don't."

On the third day, she was discharged from the hospital.

...

It was Gu Hansheng's first time stepping into the underground casino. Even wealthy people wouldn't usually play cards in such a setting.

The crowded place was bustling with people, surrounded by various dazzling LED screens.

Ji Chen discreetly blocked one flashy woman after another for Gu Hansheng until he saw Liang Shu.

She stood in the middle of the long gambling table, wearing a deep blue sunscreen shirt that reached her ankles. Despite the exaggerated makeup, her beauty remained undiminished.

Her slender, porcelain-white fingers flipped over, and a stack of cards was spun by her, her long wavy hair swinging in the air, creating a seductive curve.

Someone pushed all their chips forward.

Liang Shu applauded, "Bravo!"

Gu Hansheng stood alone in the distance, watching the bright and arrogant woman, his eyes growing colder.

"Mr. Gu, we've been investigating for a week, but still can't find out who her guarantor is."

At the gaming table, the woman reached out to reclaim the chips lost by the player, her smile so exaggerated that it seemed to stretch to her ears.

The gambler lost all the chips he had just pushed out, amounting to tens of thousands at least, but there was no hint of negativity on his face. He even reached out to touch the woman's waist—

Seeing this, she hesitated for a moment, but her smile didn't fade. Her soft fingers, seemingly boneless, grabbed the man's hand and placed it on the table.

As for what was said, it was completely inaudible on their side.

Gu Hansheng turned indifferently and said coldly, "This path is not feasible, let's find her creditor."

"Yes."

Ji Chen turned back and, amidst the crowded crowd, the woman's bright features caught everyone's eye.

Indeed, everything from her living environment to her appearance was in a terrible state.

...

Receiving another debt collection call, Liang Shu was taken aback.

She replied patiently, "Didn't I pay a part already?"

"Did you pay tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands? That little bit isn't even enough for interest. Are you trying to fool us?" the other party spoke coldly.

After a few seconds' pause, Liang Shu snapped, "I have no money left."

Finally, she added with pursed lips, "You go find the guarantor. I have no money. Even if you force me to death, it won't change anything."

Before the other party could speak, she hung up first.

The other party called back, threateningly, "You bitch, I'll give you another week. If you can't pay, I'll come for your life."

The call was disconnected.

Liang Shu sat on the floor for a long time, then got up to search through everything in the room.

All the money, scattered together, was not enough to afford even the lowest-grade room in the Imperial City.

She had one more thing: a ring.

It was said to be worth a million.

But she wouldn't dare to use this ring to raise money, nor would she dare to spend it.

So she had to think of a way to make money.

A week later, Liang Shu was cornered in an alley.

Several burly men, towering over her, left her with no room to escape.

She conscientiously took out everything on her and placed them on the ground. Finally, she lifted her phone, "Second-hand, worth next to nothing. At least leave it for me to answer your calls in the future."

With a kick, the other party smashed everything on the ground, and bills of various colors flew everywhere.

She was held by the chin, the pain making her temples throb. She gritted her teeth and, before her bones could break, she reached into her collar and pulled out a thick stack of cash.

"It's all here, nothing more."
