Chapter 16: Rampage

With a lofty air.

The man, growing impatient, spoke, "Miss Liang, how do you intend to compensate?"

She couldn't muster her usual haughty demeanor. When she lifted her head, her expression had softened considerably. The beauty mark at the corner of her eye accentuated her features, making her all the more captivating. She asked, "Then may I ask, Mr. Gu, do you still require blood?"

This man always had a way of easily crushing her pride underfoot.

"Not necessary."

You see, it's not enough to just trample on her pride; he also needs to ruthlessly grind it into the ground.

But even if she's reduced to dust, when the wind comes, she might just turn into a sandstorm.

There was a neatly arranged row of liquor bottles on the nearby bar counter, featuring Bulgarian Balkan vodka, known for its high alcohol content and strength.

Liang Shu casually grabbed a bottle and, before Gu Hansheng could react, unabashedly drank nearly half of it.

She didn't even bother pretending anymore. Wiping the moisture from her lips, she fiercely threw the half-empty bottle to the ground. The sound of shattering glass filled the air, and countless shards fell to the ground at their feet.

She resumed her indifference. "You might as well just call the police and have me arrested."

Then she walked out.

Liang Shu began to imagine who would care if she died.

After much consideration, she realized that besides her two good friends, few would care about her life or death.

Would Aunt Mei care?

She didn't want to dwell on the answer to that question.

But one thing Liang Shu was certain of: the person she worried about the most in this world was Aunt Mei.

She had never been one to conform. During her university days, she resisted attending classes and refused to go to school every day. Aunt Mei patiently waited for her outside her dormitory, rain or shine, for half a month, until she finally acquiesced.

It's quite ridiculous, isn't it? She went to college.

...

When Gu Hansheng emerged from the private room, Ji Chen whispered something in his ear.

He gazed steadily at the dim lights in the corridor, half-closed his eyes, and spoke in a cold tone, "Take her in."

The police station.

It seemed like it had only been a month since the last time she was here.

But this time, her role was different.

She sat in the chair, slouching, completely uncooperative.

A police officer came in to go through the routine procedures, asking her in a businesslike manner, "Did you cause trouble and vandalize things at the Royal Palace Club?"

Liang Shu, feeling the effects of the alcohol, her throat and stomach burning, sweat beading on her forehead, held her stomach, squinting at the person in front of her, nodded and admitted, "Yes, it was me."

"Do you realize that your actions have caused serious consequences for others?"

"Well...what consequences could there be?" She tilted her head, asking.

The policewoman tapped the desk with her pen a few times. "Be serious. Think carefully about what you've done, and don't think you're innocent."

Liang Shu lowered her head and counted on her fingers. Yes, she just smashed a few bottles of alcohol, scratched the woman in Jiang Jiucheng's arms... and then, it seems like she also smashed the bar counter in the lobby?

Her head felt heavy, with some fragments missing. She didn't remember many details.

But none of that had anything to do with her; it was all at Gu Hansheng's behest.

Liang Shu shifted in her seat, feeling a fire burning inside her. She fanned herself a couple of times and complained, "It's so hot in here, can you lower the air conditioning a bit? It's too hot, I can't stand it..."

"And also, this chair is uncomfortable. I want a sofa. I'm tired..."

"Comrade! Show some respect; do you think this is your own home?"

Liang Shu was taken aback, feeling a bit aggrieved. She looked at the officer and said, "I'm really tired. I've been going around... three different places this afternoon. I'm tired and sleepy."
