Only Till Forever Falls Apart

[KIYOMI]

Kiyomi stared at the empty room she was currently in and she couldn't help but think back to the mad woman who had just left the room. She had had a lot on her mind when she woke up, but a jealous Sakura Watanabe wasn't even on top of her list.

She had been sure the crazy queen never knew what humanity was, or even a motion for that matter, and right now, the good doctor wasn't sure what was real and unreal with Sakura anymore.

Perhaps the theory of the Lycan queen being bipolar was coming to fruition.

'What now?' Kiyomi asked herself as she walked to the nearest window.

She could tell she was in Yena hospital, or so she had heard the queen say. It didn't scream safety for her, but at the same time, it got Kiyomi wondering what her future looked like.

She had been a medic all her life, and she had faced one too many challenges in that profession, but even then, she didn't know how to live as anyone else other than a neurosurgeon.

Kiyomi Kimura loved the operating rooms more than she loved her bedroom or even office. She loved being with patients more than she loved walking outside and getting some air.

As she stood there watching the medical personnel come in and out of the hospital, with ambulances making shifts, Kiyomi wished she didn't have such a complicated life. Was her dream that hard for anyone to understand or was it some sort of a curse on her?

"Miss Watanabe?" a nurse greeted as she walked into Kiyomi's room and the good doctor was about to tell her that she wasn't Sakura, when she remembered the manning contract.

The contract she had been forced to sign and one that had sealed her fate.

It was something that she despised to this day, but then she couldn't even think too much of it because at the end of the day, she was just a rogue who was in the presence of a mad queen who lived to eliminate rogues.

"Kiyomi is just fine," the good doctor said to the nurse who looked at her with a defeated smile, almost like the woman knew the predicament that Kiyomi had found herself in.

It didn't even take long for Kiomi to realize the nurse who had come into her room was a Lycan too. Well, she should not expect any less from the woman who had been a nuisance to everyone.

Life wasn't fair to her, but she had long known that the moment the tides had turned against her; the only thing she had left was her life. And yet even that was being threatened right now. What if she made a run for it? But what if she stared? Oh, Kiyomi.

"The queen calls for you. She said to give you this change of scrubs," the nurse said and Kiyomi could have sworn she had heard the woman wrong. Scrubs? In this part of the world? What the hell was Sakura Watanabe playing at?

"Scrubs? Are you sure these are for me?" Kiyomi asked and the nurse just gently put them on the bed, and Kiyomi could see her name on the scrubs. The only difference was that instead of Kiyomi Kimura, the name on the scrubs was Kiyomi Kimura Watanabe.

"Yes, they are. Please change, I'll be waiting to take you to her," the nurse said and Kiyomi just sighed. The woman who had forced her into a marriage was claiming her publicly which wasn't what Kiyomi had ever thought of.

She had heard the rumors of the oppressed contract and frankly, none of them had ever gotten to love long enough to even claim the queen's last name. It was like they were just pets for Sakura, and eye here she was, being claimed by Sakura.

The queen was letting everyone know that Kiyomi Kimura was hers and no one was to mess with her. It was also crazy, because she had plastered the last anime that Kiyomi had tried so hard to never live without there.

At Odanera, Kiyomi had only ever been Doctor Kiyomi. None of the people knew her last name save for the hospital director, and she had only ever used that name once when Kiyomi was suspected of murder.

A lot of things weren't adding up, but then why did Kiyomi suddenly feel safe with the last name Watanabe on her scrubs?

"Thank you," Kiyomi said to no one in particular even as the nurse stepped out to wait. This was surprising, and Kiyomi wasn't certain if she could lean into it, but she was tempted to.

Perhaps just this time, the crazy woman wanted what was best for her, right?

Changing into the set of scrubs was something Kiyomi hadn't ever thought was possible. Hell, even the croaks the nurse had brought made her feel like she wasn't a prisoner of the queen, but just a medic.

"Odanera?" Kiyomi wondered when she saw the hospital on the scrubs. She had imagined that it would be Yena she was being forced to work in but then the mad woman was letting her free into the world, but with a new name.

For a moment there the good doctor felt tears prick her eyes. This was honestly more than she had imagined and if she was being honest, none of this made any sense to her in any way. It was like she was free and not free, yet safe and still not safe.

What the hell was the mad queen playing at this time?

"I'm ready," Kiyomi said, as she opened the door, which strategy hadn't been locked. Maybe she had been too paranoid for so long that everything never felt safe for her. But at the same time, she couldn't be blamed for being paranoid anyway.

She had folded her clothes and changed the sheets on that bed, almost like she used to do whenever she found herself sleeping n on one of the beds in the private ICU wing in Odanera. Perhaps old habits did die hard, but would they take her with them?

"Please follow me," the nurse said and in silence, with a clouded mind, Kiyomi followed her earnestly through the halls of the hospital. She had noticed how people were staring at her, but right now, that didn't matter as much.

The only thing she wanted to do was see her Elif, even if her friend would not want anything to do with her, But even that didn't explain what the fuck the crazy psycho meant by handing her scrubs and letting her free like this.

Kiyomi was still angry at how everything had gone for her and she wanted to find the people who had messed up her life and slam their head in the toilet one too many times but she had to be patient with herself.

This was not even an assurity of freedom so she couldn't fuck it up, but boy was she tempted to go back to Odanera and settle her scores with them. Well, maybe she wouldn't be able to, or maybe she would have a change of heart, right?

"My queen, the queen consort is here," the nurse suddenly said, snapping Kiyomi out of her clouded thoughts. She had been following the nurse so sheepishly that she didn't even realize they were in Elif's room.

"Kiki!" Elif said as she got up and rushed to her best friend while Sakura just watched calmly like she approved of this.
