Eclipse… Sudden Shower

[KIYOMI]

"Patient name: Izanami Watanabe," Kiyomi read, and paled. This couldn't be happening to her. This was not supposed to be real and yet as she stared at the empty file. She knew that her worst dream was coming true.

She didn't have a mate to protect her. She didn't have someone to rely on anymore. She didn't have someone she would cry out for and who would come to her rescue. The file in her hands had doomed her and she hated herself for being weak.

She hated the fates for bringing her back to the very horror she had struggled against for so long.

She hated everything that had gotten her to this point and for a moment, as she stood there frozen in time, Kiyomi wondered if life would have been different for her if her parents hadn't made the wrong decision at the time.

She wondered if she would have grown up like every normal Lycan girl with a family that loved and cared for her. A family that would do everything to protect her like all the Lycan males did with the Lycan females.

Kiyomi dared to hope and it hurt. It hurt so badly that Kiyomi knew that she would never be able to run away from the horror of her past. She was doomed and this was what life would always be like for her.

"Doctor Kiyomi Kimura-Watanabe, consultation room six," Kiyomi heard as she stood there, still frozen. She wanted to make a run for it, but she knew that was something she had to do.

If this was the last day of her life, then at least she would die treating patients. It was in times like this that Kiyomi despised that Hippocratic oath, but then she couldn't even take it back.

So, she had to deal with the chaos that was here. She had to wait and see what life would be like. She had to try and be sensible, even when all rationality was bound to leave her.

"You look worn out, doctor Kimura. Is it Doctor Elif again?" Nurse Derah asked when Kiyomi walked past the reception and the food doctor just smiled sadly at her, making the nurse chuckle.

For her, it was like another episode of Kiyomi and Elif running around the hospital and making fun of each other. They were the best of friends and they were a nuisance to each other.

The hospital knew that already and the hospital also knew that they were good doctors who never played with the lives of their patients. So, this was nothing for them to worry about.

"All the best in your next shift!" Nurse Derah said as Kiyomi disappeared around the corner as she headed to the consultation rooms. More specifically, the consultation room six.

Walking in, Kiyomi expected the worst of these worst. She expected the Bogdan Lycans to be waiting for her ready to take her out. She was expecting that there would be an army in there, ready to hit her with all they had and didn't have.

She expected to find the Doiwa high guards and even Otaru standing there with their threatening eyes like they were supposed to remind Kiyomi that she had a job to do and she needed to be really good at it.

But when she walked in and saw an empty room, the good doctor let out a sigh of relief.

She could tell that this was just the beginning, but he was glad that at least she was here before her patient. She knew that her life was fucked, but perhaps fate was being nicer to her, right?

After all, maybe she would be able to get out of this predicament with time, right?

Oh, Kiyomi.

'Oh, goddess,' Kiyomi sighed internally as she plopped on her seat, waiting for her fate.

One of the nurses walked in and handed her the patient files that she was to deal with in the evening. That could only mean that the patient who had been booked for the evening wasn't her yet, and for a moment, Kiyomi dared to breathe.

She dared to have a chance at hope and pray for everything to be alright. Maybe if she prayed harder this time, all would be well. Maybe if she tried to stay positive life wouldn't fuck her over again, right?

Oh, but Kiyomi was scared of what the future looked like for her.

"Thank you, nurse," Kiyomi said to the nurse who just smiled at her, realizing that the doctor was probably stressed because Kiyomi always acknowledged the nurses by their names and not titles. Then again, this was new to everyone, right?

One by one, Kiyomi's patients walked in, for consultation. They had regular human illnesses and it was an interesting evening for the good doctor that she almost forgot about the horror that was waiting for her.

Each time the patient walked out and another in, Kiyomi wondered if this would be the last patient she would see in her lifetime.

So, she made sure to be as lively as possible.

She made sure to look as hopeful as she could even when the patients had cancer and seemed to be at the end of their lives. In fact, she was way too positive that the patients almost thought that they would be fixed.

It was interesting, truly and the evening was as bright as ever. But as the evening trickled into the night, the unsettling feeling returned. Doctor Kiyomi wanted to excuse herself, but she couldn't.

She was the doctor on a shift, so she waited and eventually, as her nineteenth patient walked out, Kiyomi knew that her tormentor was next. She had a feeling but when she looked into the system and saw that blinding name, she knew she was done for.

She could feel her blood pressure hiking and her anxiety was a little over the top. A panic attack was swooping in and Kiyomi knew that she was doomed. She tried to rehearse her breathing patterns.

The good doctor tried to think of Sakura coming for her.

She tried to think of everything positive including a future that was uncertain for her, but it didn't work. So, she grabbed three pieces of rubber bands and strapped them to her wrist, in a bid to stay sane enough to deal with Izanami Watanabe.

She could feel her eyes watering already and her heart clenching as she waited anxiously. Oh, but Kiyomi was losing her mind because of this one woman. She hated how scared she was, but there wasn't much she could do. So, she waited.

"Izanami Watanabe, consultation room six," the intercom sounded and Kiyomi sighed.

Her life was finally coming to an end and she was ready for it, though deep down she wanted to run and scream for her life. She wanted to be hugged and told it was alright. Perhaps in her next life, she would get it, right?

"Doctor Kimura-Watanabe, may we come in," Izanami voiced and Kiyomi stilled.

This was not what she was expecting.

The woman who had haunted her coming here was one thing, but hearing her call Kiyomi by the name Sakura had insisted on was another. Perhaps the day wouldn't be as bad, right?

"Yeah… please," Kiyomi said in the most professional voice she could muster and when Izanami walked in, the shock on Kiyomi's face had all her anxiety and panic attacks disappearing in an instant.

"What the FUCK?!" Kiyomi shrieked.
