The other two were Louise and Kirche.
Louise was the one who took the initiative to approach him, frequently coming to Dak with all sorts of questions.
However, probably because others were usually around, she never asked about Void Magic.
Most of her inquiries were about her Pokémon Egg, and occasionally about Pokémon Island.
Interestingly enough, the questions Louise asked about her Pokémon Egg happened to be the same ones Dak was curious about.
It had already been over a month—four days past the expected timeframe—yet Louise's Pokémon Egg still hadn't hatched.
That went beyond the hatching timeline Dak had originally told her, so Louise was understandably worried.
However, from Dak's perception, the Pokémon Egg was perfectly healthy.
Even when using Aura and Psychic Power, he couldn't detect anything unusual. Only when using the power of Verdance could he vaguely sense that the egg was wrapped in some strange energy.
Based on the nature of Verdance, Dak speculated that this energy might be a form of natural energy, and that it seemed to be strengthening the Pokémon within the egg.
What he could confirm for sure was that the Pokémon was fine.
So he told Louise to wait a little longer.
If the egg still hadn't hatched within two weeks, he would bring it back to Pokémon Island and let Mew and Celebi take a look.
As for Kirche—
That student was a complete and unexpected surprise.
Kirche was very close to Tabitha—more than close, you could call them best friends. Sometimes, Kirche would even sleep cuddled up with Tabitha.
In the entire Magic Academy, Tabitha had only told Kirche about her true identity, and Kirche's long list of ex-boyfriends and her bases-run success rate... well, only Tabitha knew about those.
When Tabitha started spending whole days in the library this past month, Kirche noticed something was up.
At first, Kirche thought Tabitha had fallen in love and began secretly observing her.
It wasn't until she realized Tabitha was simply discussing magic and otherworldly knowledge with Dak that she let out a bored sigh—and joined them.
Sometimes when Kirche and Louise were together, they would often get into arguments.
Even though this was a library where silence was expected, the two noble girls would quarrel loudly without restraint.
Occasionally, Kirche would even engage in seductive or borderline harassing behavior toward Dak.
As for why she did that, it was unclear.
Maybe Kirche suspected Louise liked Dak and wanted to steal him.
Or maybe she was just feeling frisky, and Dak, being handsome and having that "sexy professor" vibe, seemed like the perfect target.
Regardless, Dak was more interested in Kirche's family background.
Kirche belonged to the Zerbst family—one of the three ducal houses of the Germania Kingdom.
A status comparable to the Vallière family in Tristain.
Both were ancient guardian noble houses that had followed the royal family since the founding of their kingdoms, enjoying a status just beneath the monarchs themselves.
If that were all, Dak would've had some ideas, but not enough to take much action toward Kirche.
But here came the key point.
Maybe due to the original author's fondness for beautiful women, the Vallière and Zerbst families—and even Tristain's royal family—all had a special setting:
Women ruled.
Heirs to the Tristain throne and the heads of those two families were always chosen from the daughters. They only accepted husbands into the family—they didn't marry out.
Among the new generation of the Zerbst family, there were two boys and one girl—the girl being Kirche.
That meant Kirche was the next head of the Zerbst family, and the future Grand Duchess of Germania.
Once Dak found that out—
He naturally developed some interest in the neighboring Germania Kingdom.
From what he knew, Kirche was a woman completely obsessed with love. She had no interest in war or governance and even disliked such things.
If he could build a good relationship with Kirche, then persuading the Germania Kingdom to join the movement toward peace might be much easier in the future.
And so, over the course of a month, Dak's relationships with these three girls steadily grew closer.
How close?
So close that Kirche occasionally tried to sneak into his dorm room at night for a surprise visit.
But Dak had never stayed in that dorm—at most, he napped there for an afternoon—so Kirche's attempts were always in vain.
He only found out after Kirche asked the next day why he hadn't been in his room that night.
August 23rd, Sunday, 10 AM.
Since Dak came to the school, the number of students and teachers who stayed around on Sunday mornings had increased significantly.
Sometimes, Dak's Ice Magic classes were held in the plaza and open for others to observe.
But the real reason they stayed was a course previously dismissed by many:
The Familiar Training Course.
"Kirche, you're up."
Dak held a clipboard in his hand with the score sheets attached.
He was grading the students' performances.
"Okay~ Professor Dak~"
Kirche responded in a flirty voice and winked at him, then turned to her Familiar and said, "Flamme, use Sunny Day!"
Flamme was the name of Kirche's Familiar—a Charmander.
One could only imagine what Iceburg's brother, Cutty Flam, might think about this situation.
"Here it goes~"
The Charmander lying on the ground flicked out its tongue, then spat a ball of Fire-type energy into the sky.
The previously cloudy sky suddenly cleared, becoming bright and sunny.
"Not bad. But the fire energy isn't dense enough. The effect of this 'Sunny Day' on enhancing Fire-type moves won't be very strong. 80 points."
Dak nodded, noted the score, and explained what was lacking.
This was one of the experimental results from Dak's past month of teaching.
These magical species were practically no different from Pokémon.
Not only could they learn Pokémon-style moves, but they also reacted to Pokéblocks, Potions, and other items almost identically to Pokémon.
Even the way they cast their abilities was just like Pokémon—they didn't require any spell incantations, simply channeling their internal energy.
That was enough for Dak to confirm that these magical species could be classified as Pokémon.
Though they were all single-stage Pokémon, of course.
But during that process, Dak had a new idea.
If these familiars could use Pokémon moves in magical form, could magicians also use them?
After some testing, the answer was no.
He discovered that these familiars weren't casting similar spells—they were using actual Pokémon moves, completely unrelated to magic.
Naturally, human mages couldn't replicate such techniques through magic.
A bit disappointing, sure, but Dak didn't dwell on it—it had been a pleasant surprise in the first place.
Once Kirche's test was complete, that stage of the lesson—or trial—came to an end.
"All right, that concludes today's Fire-type Familiar skill testing. Next class, I'll be focusing on Ground-type Familiar skills. If your Familiar has a Ground attribute, feel free to attend."
Dak addressed the group of students and teachers before him.
About 60% of them had summoned Fire-type familiars, which was why they had come for this class.
So far, Dak had taught three weather-based skills: Rain Dance for Water-types, Hail for Ice-types, and Sunny Day for Fire-types.
Naturally, the Pokémon possessing these three types—Lapras and Ho-Oh—had both made appearances before the students.
Ho-Oh's presence, unsurprisingly, had stunned the crowd.
But maybe because Ho-Oh was smaller than Lapras, and its Fire+Flying typing wasn't as "rare" or visually striking as Lapras' Ice typing—
Even with its radiant, rainbow-colored glow and overwhelming pressure, the students still found Lapras more appealing.
Noticing this, Dak was already looking forward to the next class.
Because Tyranitar would be making its debut in the next Familiar Training Course.
With its ferocious appearance, towering ten-meter height, and dramatic sandstorm effects on entry—it was sure to leave an unforgettable impression.
Thinking about it, Dak even felt a little bad for Ho-Oh.
Never mind the age difference, but in terms of power, lore, and sheer prestige—
Ho-Oh should be above both Lapras and Tyranitar.
But alas, these ignorant school kids had no appreciation for the greatness before them and ended up treating it as the least impressive of the three.
"Professor, look!"
Just as Dak was still trying to play up his own scene with Ho-Oh, Louise's startled voice rang out beside him.
The students, who had begun to disperse, all turned their gazes to Louise's arms.
That Pokémon Egg, silent for over a month, was now glowing.
"Oh, that's a sign it's about to hatch. Don't worry, you still have at least—"
Dak glanced at the egg and raised his hand, ready to reassure her.
Based on usual hatching signs, this egg should still take about a day to fully hatch.
But before he could even finish his sentence—
The egg in Louise's arms suddenly burst into a dazzling rainbow light, so bright everyone had to instinctively shut their eyes.
"Woof!"
Before anyone could reopen their eyes, a crisp bark rang out.
"...A dog?"
Louise murmured in confusion, then slowly opened her eyes.
Standing in front of her was a small humanoid puppy with blue and black fur—its soft pink tongue gently licked the tip of Louise's nose.
