I Thank You From the Bottom of My Heart

Furuya Rei is on the run.

He's running from street to street, back to street, from the center of the crowd to the middle of nowhere, back to the center of the crowd, not only running away from the spontaneous pursuit of the police and the general public like any other police cadet, but also trying to get his cell phone.

Yes, the cell phone.

The car breakdown was so sudden, and Furuya Rei was thrown out so suddenly, that not only did he not react, but neither the instructor nor the police officer driving the car reacted, and not only did they fail to give the usual advice and precautions, but they didn't even give him a cell phone.

A cell phone is a proof of identity, a proof of clearance.

Furuya Rei had to leap out, leap back in, grab the cell phone and leap out again.

When he first found out about the Disguised Criminal program, he had a lot of hard choices to make, such as.

'Disguised Criminal, do we have to commit a crime?', 'We are police academy students, how can we break the law and commit a crime, even if it's just a common theft, it's absolutely not allowed', 'Once it starts, if someone can't control it...', 'The police, who are supposed to protect the public, shouldn't play the role of criminals' and so on and so forth.

But in the chaos of running around and even having to get his cell phone himself, all these thoughts took a backseat until now, when Furuya Rei had gotten his cell phone and managed to escape from the trackers and get to a safe place, they came back to his mind.

He gripped the cell phone tightly, tried to slow down his rapid breathing, looked down again, saw that he had changed into a set of ordinary black clothes, touched the hat on his head that covered his blonde hair, touched the mask that covered his face, and briefly remained speechless.

In the midst of the speechless silence, there was the sound of footsteps in a chaotic manner, and a team of police officers hurriedly ran by nearby, "Quick, the target person is nearby!"

"Go up and question anyone you see."

"He's very skillful, he's changed his clothes a few times, and blonde hair and brown skin are no longer a distinctive feature, don't just focus on the blonde."

They were also holding walkie-talkies, in which they quickly exchanged what streets had no suspicious persons.

There was a quick exchange of what kind of person to question. "Solitary."

"The target is a criminal, no friends to cover, even if he is holding hostages, in this need to disguise the moment can only hold a hostage, in the road to see two to less than two people for questioning to check the identity of the blonde and whether the brown skin."

"What's the status of the team that went to the store? Did they encounter any suspicious people?"

"Those who went to the neighboring residential areas didn't find anything unusual either, the security guards said they didn't find anyone suspicious, so we'll have to wait for additional manpower to come door-to-door and make inquiries."

The voice echoed around the neighborhood for a few moments before fading away.

Furuya Rei, still in the dark alley, exhaled wearily and clarified, "It wasn't really very skillful."

He was forced to do it.

He looked down at his long-sleeved, long-pants outfit, which showed almost no skin at all, and backed deeper into the alley, leaning against the wall, having learned the criminal's knowledge that if the police came back to search the alley, he could just go over the wall and run away.

Then he checked his cell phone.

The screen of the phone lights up with the lowest of ghostly lights, and it shows a large string of words, all of which are precautions, and then, when pressed down, Furuya Rei's assigned identity this time.

[Your current status is Illegal Immigrant.]

[Three days ago, you sneaked into Japanese territory illegally, but were accidentally discovered by the police.]

[The police are looking for you.]

Illegal immigrant.

Considering Furuya Rei's blonde hair and brown skin, this is actually a very appropriate charge, or at least one that almost all police officers would believe without thinking when they see Furuya Rei's picture and the charge.

Furuya Rei lowered his eyes and looked at the charge on the blinding screen, he didn't say anything, he put away his cell phone and let out a breath again, "It's not like they're chasing me for being an ordinary illegal immigrant."

They're chasing a serial killer.

It's not often that the Tokyo police make such a big deal out of this. This was just a training exercise, so why such a big deal?

After a brief recollection, Furuya Rei found a clue in his jumbled memory, "Camera?"

He loosened his frown, "When I jumped out of the car, there were TV people around, it should have made the news."

That's why he caused more of a stir than the other cadets, and the police were desperate to arrest him.

But, "The car..."

Why did it suddenly break down? It's the tires!

While leaping back to get his cell phone, Furuya Rei inspected the car deeply and carefully with his eyes, and saw the empty part of the wheel that should have a rear wheel.

Furuya Rei was puzzled: even if the cars were temporarily transferred, they could not have been collected from the public, but from the police officers who had their own cars.

With the police salary, it is unlikely that the owner of the car has several cars, the car is placed in the garage dust, so the breakdown was not found in time, the probability is that the car will be driven every day.

How can you not notice a breakdown!

Too much bad luck, Furuya Rei pinched his brow, put his cell phone in his pocket, and after making sure that the police didn't make a comeback, he quickly stepped out of the alley and blended in with the crowd on the street, intending to leave this dangerous area as soon as possible.

There are too many police officers here.

With the danger out of the way, there was one thing to consider: "Should we rendezvous?"

This time, the program was a solo training program, and although the instructors didn't directly say 'no rendezvous, work in pairs', the tendency to spread people out from the start was clear.

Both partnering and solo action have their own advantages and disadvantages, partnering will increase the survival rate, but also will expand the target, increase the pursuit efforts, solo action is very dangerous, but the target is small, as long as careful attention to the action, there is a wind and grass will retreat, there is a certain probability of success in freedom to the fifteenth day.

A few days before the start of the training, Ichijō Mirai simply explained the program without suggesting whether to go solo or to meet up, so most of the cadets were hesitant and unsure.

There's a difference between uncertainty and uncertainty. Some are uncertain because they don't have the ability to make a successful rendezvous even if they decide to do so.

Some are uncertain because they are sure they can make it alone or in a group, so they are choosing between the two.

Furuya Rei avoided the oncoming group of police, swept past a passerby they were questioning, and naturally walked into a convenience store on the side.

The convenience store was broadcasting a television program that interacted with the viewers by asking them to order songs, which was not too harsh to be used as background music.

The host of the program said, "Okay, let's take the next caller. Hello, how may I address you?"

The viewer answered steadily, in a voice Furuya Rei hadn't heard before, and paid no attention to it until he heard a key word and stopped his hands from pretending to pick out an item.

"High moral sense."

[Moral sense] and [High] were the words on Ichijō Mirai's wooden omamori, and Furuya Rei was impressed because he thought the words matched the owner of the omamori.

The viewer also said: "I am a game lover with a very high sense of morality. You can call me Messiah."

"I really enjoy playing games with my classmates, and if they need my help, I won't hesitate to lend a hand, just call the program's hotline and ask the program to pass it on..."

Something didn't sound right, so the program host quickly interrupted and said a few jokes to lighten the mood.

The caller didn't say anything else, but as if he was equally relieved, he quickly and obediently said the song he wanted to order, "Okay, I'll go and catch the next program, the song I want to order is."

"I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
