Trouble Is Coming (Part 4)

Those people nearby turned around at the sound, and seeing his disheveled appearance, they realized what was happening but couldn't stop him as he rushed past them.

Someone muttered in discontent, "They're discussing a marriage proposal inside. Why do you go in covered in dirt? If the words get out that our village is like this, who will dare to come here to arrange marriages in the future?"

Wu Erlang stormed into the courtyard, planting his hoe into the ground and confronting Huo Dagou directly.

After working in the fields all morning, his clothes were soaked with sweat, and mud clung to his shoes and dotted his clothing.

Mrs. Wang quickly covered her mouth and nose with a handkerchief and stepped back.

How uncouth!

"Wu Erlang, why are you interfering with our family's business?"

Mrs. Yang, who always had issues with the Wu family, shouted angrily upon seeing him.

"Yelling at us like this, did everything you learned in the school for six months go to waste?"

"How can you so shameless and dare you come here! Aren't you afraid that Uncle Huo might come after you at night?"

In the past, Mrs. Yang had always instigated trouble for Mother Huo.

After Huo Tianzhou got married, things settled down a little bit, but now her greed had driven her to come again.

Mrs. Yang spat on the ground, "Pihh! His short life has nothing to do with us!"

No matter how people around them had blamed and cursed him, Huo Tianzhou had remained calm.

But now, with a fierce glare, he stepped forward towards Mrs. Yang.

Liang Hongyu quickly put down her basket and stepped in front of him, her expression showing impatience as she looked at Huo Dagou and the others.

"What do you really want?"

Liang Hongyu had the original owner's memories, so she knew how the Huo family had treated Mother Huo and Huo Tianzhou very well.

She had no good feelings towards the other Huo family members and now she showed even less respect towards Huo Dagou and Mrs. Yang.

In the past, they would cause trouble but were wary of Mother Huo.

Now that she was gone and they felt they could bully them without restraint.

"A dog can't stop eating shit. They must be up to no good!"

Wu Erlang sneered from the side.

"Erlang, you're wronging them. The Huo family came specifically to find a matchmaker for their nephew," a villager explained, cutting off Mrs. Yang's angry retort.

Wu Erlang glanced disdainfully at the matchmaker, who was still moving away with a look of disgust, "They're matchmaking? I don't believe they're up to any good."

Wu Erlang was actually worried about Huo Tianzhou's future marriage, but he certainly didn't trust Mrs. Yang and the others to arrange it out of goodwill.

We're not up to no good! Do you think inviting someone here doesn't cost money?"

Mrs. Yang retorted.

Thinking about the money she spent and how they almost offended the matchmaker made her even more furious.
