Lecturing The Growing Up Boys (Part 3)

Liang Hongyu was initially worried that Huo Dagou and his gang might really cause trouble for Huo Tianzhou, and he would suffer because of it.

She wanted to give him a heads-up to prevent that.

Seeing now that he could understand her meaning with just a few words, she felt reassured that if trouble came his way, he might not suffer as much as she had feared.

With that in mind, Liang Hongyu didn't say more, realizing that he needed to experience some things for himself.

Huo Tianzhou, still feeling a little bit awkward, stood there, seemingly ready to leave but not quite doing so.

Liang Hongyu stood up, clapped her hands, and directed him, "Go boil some water. We're having chicken tonight."

She found it quite handy to use free labor.

The pheasant with its legs tied, had been placed on the floor of the backyard.

During Liang Hongyu and Huo Tianzhou's conversation, it had struggled its way to the corner, still fighting for its own life fiercely.

Liang Hongyu walked over, unceremoniously grabbed the pheasant, and threw it back to its original spot.

She then turned around to the kitchen to get a knife, planning to kill the chicken first.

As she reached the doorway, she nearly bumped into Huo Tianzhou, who was coming out of the kitchen.

Liang Hongyu remembered that she had checked the water tank in the kitchen in the morning to see if there was any food, and the water was already at the bottom.

"Watch the pheasant and don't let it run away. I'll go get some water."

Liang Hongyu took the wooden bucket from Huo Tianzhou.

There were usually few people who came to their house, and at this time of day, most of the villagers were busy cooking, so there was no reason for anyone to come by.

Seeing Liang Hongyu take the bucket and walk away, Huo Tianzhou turned around and went back to the kitchen.

He soon came out holding a large wooden basin.

Liang Hongyu was considerate of Huo Tianzhou's poor health, so she went to fetch the water herself to get it done quickly.

When she saw him coming to help, she didn't say anything.

However, seeing him carrying a wooden basin several times bigger than his head, it was clear that he was still a little bit angry after her earlier scolding.

He followed a few steps behind her with an expressionless face.

Liang Hongyu couldn't help but find it amusing.

She wondered why she had ever thought that this person would be unable to handle criticism and run away from home.

There were two wells in the village, one on the east side and one on the west side, located centrally for the convenience of the villagers.

Liang Hongyu was headed to the well on the west side, which was behind their house.

She and Huo Tianzhou made two trips and took just over a quarter of an hour to fill the water tank at home.
