As Mia helped Eliana bathe, Eliana's tears mingled with the warm water, her body aching from the previous night's trauma. Mia's gentle touch and soft words of comfort were a stark contrast to Damon's brutal force. Though Mia didn't know the full extent of what had happened, she sensed Eliana's distress and was careful to be gentle.
"Miss, is there anything I can get for you?" Mia asked, her voice soft and concerned. "Maybe some tea or a warm compress?"
Eliana shook her head, feeling numb and defeated. "Just help me get clean, Mia. I want to forget last night ever happened."
Mia nodded sympathetically and continued to help Eliana bathe, her silence a comforting presence in the midst
Mia helped Eliana out of the bathtub and began to dress her, trying to be gentle with her bruises. As she fastened the last button on Eliana's dress, Damon burst into the room.
"Get out, Mia!" he barked, his eyes flashing with anger.
Mia knew better than to disobey. She curtsied hastily and scurried out of the room, leaving Eliana alone with Damon.
Damon's eyes narrowed as he walked closer to Eliana, his presence making her flinch. "If you don't want something like yesterday to happen again," he growled, "don't ever speak to my cousin again. Do you understand?"
Eliana stammered, "O-okay, my lord."
Damon's gaze lingered on her, his eyes darkening with a sinister intensity. "Good," he spat, before turning on his heel and leaving the room.
As the door slammed shut, the walls seemed to crack with the force of his departure. Eliana flinched, rolling herself into a ball as tears streamed down her face. She cried hard, her body shaking with fear and her heart heavy with despair.
Eliana lay there for what felt like hours, her tears finally subsiding into a dull ache. She couldn't shake the feeling of Damon's eyes on her, the way he seemed to take pleasure in her fear. She knew she had to escape, but where could she go? She was trapped in this castle, surrounded by Damon's loyal guards.
As she lay there, Eliana heard a faint noise outside her door. She froze, wondering if Damon had returned. But then she heard the soft whisper of "Lady Eliana?" and knew it was Mia.
Mia slipped into the room, her eyes wide with concern. "Miss, I brought you some food and water. You must be starving."
Eliana nodded, her throat dry. Mia helped her sit up and brought a tray to her lap. Eliana ate mechanically, her mind racing with thoughts
Eliana hesitated, unsure if she could trust Mia. But she had no choice. "I need a pill, a potion... something to prevent... a baby."
Mia's eyes widened in shock, and she glanced around the room nervously. "Miss Eliana, I don't know if I can get that for you."
Eliana's grip on Mia's arm tightened. "Please, Mia. I'll do anything. I just can't... can't have his child."
Mia's expression was a mix of horror and curiosity. "I'll see what I can do, miss. But you know I have to tell Lord Damon everything."
Eliana's heart sank, realizing she had made a mistake. She had just sealed her fate.
