Chapter 6 I Need a Legitimate Mrs. Xie_1

Su Miaomiao rubbed her eyes and quickly ran forward.

The light had just turned red ahead, and the car came to a stop.

"You, do you remember me?"

She looked at Xie Yuan breathlessly, pursing her lips.

Deep down, she was unsure of what Xie Yuan really thought of her.

Xie Yuan twirled the Buddha Beads in his hand, his tone cold.

"It's hard to forget Miss Su's enthusiasm!"

He didn't refuse, and Su Miaomiao let out a sigh of relief as she opened the car door and got in.

She explained what had happened the night before, even though she felt that the hackneyed plot twist of being drugged and stumbling into the Xie Family Manor lacked persuasiveness.

"Please believe I really didn't do it on purpose."

Xie Yuan was noncommittal as he took a document from beside him and handed it to Su Miaomiao.

Twirling the Buddha Beads in his left hand, the veins stood out, the lines smooth, exuding a man's sense of power.

"I need a Mrs. Xie, and for the time being, Miss Su fits the bill."

"Zhong Bo should have explained everything to you, if there are no issues, we can sign the contract now."

Su Miaomiao skimmed over the document, which essentially outlined her role as Mrs. Xie, with all expenses for food, accommodation and travel covered by Xie Yuan.

Her salary would be paid monthly, wait, how much?

One, one million?

Seeing the string of zeros behind the number, she found herself unsettled.

Finally, her turn for extravagant wealth had come.

"No problem, shall we sign now?"

Taking the pen that Xie Yuan offered, she wrote her name down neatly.

Then, she handed the pen back and curved her lips, looking at Xie Yuan.

"It's your turn, Mr. Xie."

Xie Yuan signed his name, his nature cold but his handwriting extremely bold.

Looking up with furrowed brows, he noticed the faint red at the corner of Su Miaomiao's eyes.

"Crying?"

Su Miaomiao pursed her lips, looking aggrieved.

"My foot's blistered, it hurts."

"Really, look, I'm not lying," she said, lifting her heel.

Her skin was naturally soft and white, and even a minor break looked like a defect on a perfect work of art, extremely annoying to behold.

"Fragile," Xie Yuan remarked frostily, furrowing his brows as the car window rose.

"To the hospital."

Just a blister? Such an overreaction wasn't necessary, though.

"No need, no need!"

The Rolls-Royce Phantom started, and the driver thoughtfully raised the privacy partition.

The world in the backseat calmed.

Xie Yuan half-closed his eyes, slowly rotating the Black Agarwood Buddha Beads in his hand.

The cold jade-like skin and pure black intertwined, stirring Su Miaomiao's heart.

"Mr. Xie, what extent does the identity of Mrs. Xie require?"

The Buddha Beads paused, and Xie Yuan opened his eyes.

"Do your best!"

Alright, she was to improvise, Su Miaomiao nodded, understanding.

Being so close to him, she marveled even more at his flawless handsomeness.

Setting aside the prestige of the Xie Family, just with those looks, he definitely wouldn't lack women.

Her gaze landed on Xie Yuan's legs. Even with such advantages in family background and appearance, this imperfection seemed trivial.

Could it be, he was devoted to Buddhism and had no interest in romance?

In that case, could he ever marry and have children normally?

As if reading her thoughts, Xie Yuan spoke indifferently.

"I'm not bound by Buddhist precepts, not a disciple of Buddhism."

"I can marry, I can have children."

As for why he wanted a contractual marriage with her,

"Do you, believe in fate?"

Tears welled up in Su Miaomiao's eyes, and she nodded frantically.

"Believe, believe so many fates…"

They quickly arrived at the best private hospital in Shanghai City, and Su Miaomiao was startled by the line of staff waiting at the entrance.

Just for a blister? Surely this was overkill.

"This hospital is part of Dingsheng, so take the opportunity to get a full checkup," he said.

Dingsheng, that was the Xie family business.

Su Miaomiao looked at Xie Yuan and suddenly realized.

So the big shot was using the hospital visit as an excuse, but in reality, it was about her starting the job. Well, it made sense; he had led a clean and simple life for years, and suddenly having a wife would certainly cause a stir in their circles.

To avoid trouble, it was best to proceed step by step.

The driver got out of the car and opened the door, bowing respectfully.

"Mrs. Xie, please step out."

A nurse approached with a wheelchair, ready and waiting outside.

Su Miaomiao adjusted her chestnut curls, bent down, and sat in the wheelchair.

She pursed her lips, blinking her fox-like eyes playfully.

"Honey, I've already started missing you even though we've not parted yet."

She pinched her thumb and index finger together, tilting her head slightly.

"Knock love you."

Life was a play fully dependent on acting skills, and she admired her own performance.

In the sunlight, her pupils shimmered with a faint light brown, carrying a touch of girlish innocence and charm, extremely deceptive.

The clever slyness in her eyes was fleeting, as if afraid others wouldn't recognize she was a cunning little fox.

The coldness in Xie Yuan's eyes dissipated somewhat, seeming a bit puzzled.

"Knock?"

Su Miaomiao's face darkened, she had performed so well, and yet Xie Yuan was criticizing her?

"Mrs. Xie, please follow us," said the nurse, turning the wheelchair and bringing Su Miaomiao into the hospital.

The private hospital's service was particularly considerate, and they disinfected Su Miaomiao's foot before taking her through a one-stop process for a physical examination.

Snuggled in the wheelchair, Su Miaomiao felt drowsy.

After the physical examination and a psychological one, the nurse took her to the resting room.

She lay on the soft bed and fell asleep, feeling at ease.

Meanwhile, in the hospital director's office, Xie Yuan sat to one side, scrutinizing Su Miaomiao's test results.

The director was sweating nervously, continuously wiping his forehead.

"Mr. Xie, Mrs. Xie's health indicators are all normal."

"However, upon inquiry, it was found that she had undergone two years of psychological treatment abroad and may have been involved in hypnosis. This requires..."
