Li Qing's heart was thrown into disarray by Wu Xingxing, and just as he was about to utter a harsh sentence, even to give her a hand, he saw Han Mei walk in through the door, carrying a basket of vegetables.
He immediately sat up straight, feigning propriety as he pretended to drink his tea.
Wu Xingxing's movements were even more fluid and effortless.
Her skirt hadn't been raised much to begin with, so she simply stood up and cheerfully ran towards Han Mei, "Sister-in-law, let me help you!"
With Han Mei's efficient movements, lunch was quickly prepared and ready.
Just as the three of them were sitting around the table eating, Yu Lan suddenly walked in.
"Auntie, what brings you here?" Wu Xingxing asked in surprise.
"Your Uncle Hu is calling you home for lunch, but since you are already eating, I thought maybe it's not necessary," Yu Lan said, somewhat awkwardly.
Han Mei warmly invited, "Auntie, sit down and have a bit with us."
