After returning to her room and drying her hair with a hairdryer, Mo Shangjun went to bed.

She had dozed off intermittently for a few hours in the morning, but it was either on her back or in a vehicle, so the sleep wasn't very restful.

She seldom felt this exhausted, as if she had gone through one of those anti-fatigue trainings before; she lay down thinking she would sleep for a whole day and night.

But, she underestimated the biological clock she had cultivated over many years.

She woke up in less than six hours as night fell.

When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the floor-to-ceiling window, outside of which was the hazy night. The building was so high that she could only see the building opposite and a sliver of the night sky. Pulling back her gaze, the room was dimly lit, barely clear enough to make out the positions of objects, but the dark light in her vision made things indistinct.

She paused for three seconds.
