In the manor, Duke Old Crowley received the no-confidence vote results and found out that Marvin and his cabinet hadn't resigned; his mood, paradoxically, tightened.

If Marvin resigned, the storm could be delayed, but from the results, it was clear that Marvin had already prepared himself.
