CH-54 A indelible kiss

"Eh!" My heart darted into a frenetic staccato as those words registered in my ears. This was it - the moment I'd been dreaming of after seeing the light of my love for her!

I was restraining the urge to squeal like a giddy school girl silently begging the heavens that my pounding heart didn't give out from sheer elation.

"B-But you haven't professed your undying adulation or passion for me. We are not dating as well." I protested, burying my flaming face into the safe haven of her bosom.

"I-I know..." Amelia stammered, her usual poise deserting her. "But I've come to a staggering realization - I simply cannot envisage an existence without you by my side. There's so much more I yearn to uncover about you… about us."

She paused with pink cheeks. "Forgive me, for I had intended to bare my soul on a more auspicious occasion."

The truth is — Amelia had been feverishly seeking a cure for the pernicious brain tumor slowly ravaging Iris's mortal form before bonding herself to entertain notions of courtship.

Alas, a permanent panacea kept maddeningly elusive.

Her sole desire was to ensure Iris lived a long, fulfilling life - the sort of longevity vampires like herself took for granted.

For while the undead were blessed with night-eternal existences, only those who ascended to the rank of manifestation could truly claim immortality in lifespan.

Amelia knew, deep down, that Iris had the potential to reach such hallowed heights... provided If she survived long enough.

And Amelia was determined to be by Iris's side every step of the way, come what may.

Although she had yet to fully understand the core of her feelings for Iris, one truth rang clear as a bell — She had fallen in love with her at first sight.

She is still lustful to kiss her, hold her in night and day, shield her from harm's way, and keep her wholly to herself forevermore.

Before reuniting with Iris after the holiday, she had hoped to better feel compassionate towards the tumultuous emotions roiling within her cold, dead heart…

And then, finally, confess her love.

"So you see, Iris." Amelia murmured throatily, tilting my chin up to meet her smoldering gaze.

"I simply couldn't bear to waste another moment without tasting those luscious lips of yours… So, C-Can I?"

'... Well, I'd say she had got the whole confessing thing down. Should I agree?... I-I also wanted her lips. Mmm… She is also obedient.'

'... Whatever adventures in the future are anticipated, I knew we could weather them together… preferably with many more breathtaking kisses along the way…'

I pondered for a moment, then shyly bobbed my head in assent, and threatened. "F-Fine but You'd better not keep me waiting, Amelia, or I'll pummel you into the next realm."

"... Heh! I must be munching on Kibbles' Bits." Luna, eating dog food, remarked dryly, nearly tumbling to the ground as a peculiar sensation inside her heart.

She was the proverbial third wheel here, reduced to a mere spectator as those two became utterly entranced in their own little world.

Even the ongoing students, parents also who heated rumors of Amelia, gawked in disbelieving stupor at the flagrant display of intimacy between the typically aloof Amelia and her companion.

Jaws hung agape in the air. None could fathom witnessing such overt affection from that icy aristocrat.

"Thank you, honey..." Amelia murmured huskily, her left arm snaking around my waist as her right hand cherished fully grabbed my chin.

With a tilt of her head to the right and a gentle nudge guiding mine leftward, our faces drifted ever closer.

My pulse hammered a frantic staccato as I fluttered my lashes shut in breathless preparation of the searing kiss to adhere.

"... Here I go!" Amelia, took the lead, lowered her head a little and the moment our lips met.

It was pure euphoria.

Amelia's plush lips, softer than silk, molded against mine in a tantalizing dance.

A delicious shudder rippled through me as she deepened the kiss, her arm snaking around my waist and pulling me flush on her lithe form.

I melted into the smooch, dizzy with desire, as our bodies pressed together from chest to hip.

Her intoxicating floral scent, tinged with an earthy musk, concocted me in its heady state more. My fingers journey into her tresses, silken strands slipping through like liquid satin.

"Mmmm!"

When Amelia's talented tongue alluring sketched the seam of my lips, I separated them with a breathy moan. Then again, we changed our heads position left to right, right to left.

In the second kiss, our questing tongues eddy in a passionate path, the taste of her sending sparks shooting along my nerves.

If the world could have ended at this point… then I wouldn't have cared because I was so entranced.

"Mmmm!" Amelia's roaming hands stroked along the curve of my spine while I moaned inside her mouth. She angled her head, deepening a charming kiss, And my knees growing weak as a newborn fawns.

A whimper escaped my throat when, breathlessly, she segregated her lips from mine.

"W-Wow..." I rasped dizzily, sagging bonelessly against Amelia as my legs failed me. Her strong arms still around my waist, supporting my trembling form as I struggled to recover the coherence.

After a while looking up at her through a lust-hazed glance, I took in her tousled locks and lips, plump and rosy from our fervent kisses.

Amelia's eyes smoldered with banked desire, warning to immolate me where I swayed.

"That was… divine." I said it dishonestly. "Though if you insist on ravishing me so thoroughly each time, I may actually expire from greed!"

A rich chuckle rumbled from Amelia's chest as she located a feather-light caress along on my cheeks. "Then I shall endeavor to breathe life into you with kisses aplenty, my heart-"

An obnoxiously loud retching sound shattered the dreamy haze surrounding us. Luna's voice rang out with mock disgust. "For the love of all that's holy, get a room!"

Amelia and I just stood there, our eyes locked in an intense stare-off. The awkward tension was so thick, you could've cut it with a butter knife made even more strangeness.

Ultimately, We simultaneously opened our arms like two grizzly bears trying to give each other the world's most uncomfortable breakup.

We pulled apart, a series of hacking coughs came out from our throats, as if we both had just inhaled a cumulus cloud of embarrassment dust.

I knew Amelia was too cool to pay attention to those pesky rumors floating around. But at that moment… who really gave a flying fajita?

"See ya, Amelia!" I tucked my hair over my ears while stumbling backwards. In a smooth move, I pecked her on both cheeks, leaving a neon lip-print souvenir.

Spinning on my heel, I entered my car. And the engine roared to life, and I accelerated the car engine and ran away.
