Chapter IV
It's been 9 years since that incident, it all happened so fast – lost my home, my family, everything. I was left all alone, it was dark, rain was pouring heavily, my body trembling from the cold wind, I wrapped my arms sitting on the corner looking at the cars passing by despite the heavy rain. Everyone was lucky enough to have a home, after that incident, the government couldn't provide any support for me since I was already old enough to survive on my own and clearly dealing with a homeless teenager was a waste on every tax payer's money. I guess it can't be helped, governments are unreliable nowadays, you can only depend on yourself than depending on them, unless they can benefit out of you.
"Hey, seems like your lost girl" a female voice said walking towards my direction, I didn't say a word but just ignored her – this must be one of those homeless gangsters, wanting my scrap money, tough luck I don't have anything on me. The shadow lady continued walking towards me, it looks like she's bringing something but I couldn't figure out what it is due to the rain. I quickly got up and said in a loud voice "Hey! If you're here for money, I don't have any so f*ck off" scoffing her away as she continued to walk towards me without saying a word.
I immediately prepared myself for action, as she draws nearer, I grabbed her by the arm and swiftly took her down, twisting her right arm, locking her head on floor. "State your business" I said coldly as she struggled, "I brought you food and water" she said struggling and wiggling her way out of my arms. I looked up and saw the things she brought, I immediately felt guilty – suddenly she swiftly took me down, now this is just great! What more misery do I have to go through before I die.
"Living off the streets is just something ain't it?" she said with a cold voice, taunting me harshly "Let me go, you f*cking b*tch, I don't need your sympathy! Leave me alone!" I screamed as loud as I can, wiggling myself out but she was too strong for such a petite lady. After minutes of squirming, she stood up and let me go. I stood up, about to punch her but stopped, it was Ms. Woods from the library?! What was she doing here? I was about to speak up when she suddenly interrupted me "I'm here at your presence, as I have been hired to recruit you Ms. Red or should I say Renia Darcy" as she walked closer, she hugged me tightly and said something that would change my life forever.
"My dear sister, our precious Renia, fate has indeed brought us back together"
