Chapter 949: Sailing Alone

Dust returns to dust, earth to earth.

Auspicious clouds gather once more, the Tower Ship sets sail again.

Between heaven and earth, the Nirvana with no abode's golden palms pressed together slowly fades and leaves no trace.

A tumultuous upheaval shakes the heavens, and yet the Sun rises as usual.

Within the Fulong Temple, startled birds gather their wings and perch under the eaves to rest.

Monks retrieve dead fish and move pond stones, rebuilding Reclining Elephant Lake. Disciples from various major factions join in as well, replacing the cracked stone bricks and fallen walls around, bustling with activity.

The thresholds of many small houses within the temple are low, allowing them to be flooded and needing to be taken out to dry.

If one did not know better, they might truly believe that someone capable of reaching the heavens had attacked this sacred land of the Buddhist Sect.
