A gust of cold wind blew outside again, and the Maiden Priestess involuntarily tightened her cloak, unaware of how long she had dozed off. The logs in the fireplace were nearly burned out, leaving only a low glow. If it weren't for the sound of branches tapping against the window waking her up, she would have let the cold wind seep into her body, guaranteeing a runny nose tomorrow.

She wasn't afraid of catching a cold or having a fever; driving away such minor illnesses was a breeze for her. But if the High Priest found out that she had dozed off during the night shift, she was bound to get a scolding and be punished to copy prayers several times over.
