"As for your favor, I'll owe it for now, and since the Castellan has denied your proposal, I couldn't possibly go against his elder, sending troops to aid you. However, I can show you a clear path. Whether it will succeed, though, will depend on you," Goste certainly wouldn't tell Mickros that simply muddying the situation in the Goblin Margins was very advantageous to him. It was precisely during times of instability that a general would take center stage, not during peaceful times.
As for whether the Conqueror Army would be defeated in the Goblin Margins or would uproot the local forces there, it made no significant difference to him.
