Mason's POV
The morning light filtered through the windows of the packhouse meeting room, but it felt cold. A fitting backdrop for the plan I was about to set in motion.
The pack had always trusted me, followed me without question. That loyalty was a tool, one I intended to use to fix the mess Adrian and Bethany had created. If they wanted to undermine me, they would pay the price.
I stood at the head of the table, addressing a small group of my most loyal pack members. My enforcers. My confidants. And now, they would be my instruments.
"There's been a... concern brewing in the pack," I began, my voice measured and heavy with false sincerity. "Adrian's actions have raised questions. His constant interference, his proximity to Bethany—it's starting to look... suspicious."
Lila, ever eager to involve herself, leaned forward. "Suspicious how, Alpha?"
