Bethany's POV

I walked out of the compound, staggering slightly before walking up properly. I was drunk. That wasn't something that I fell into regularly, especially after what had happened that night at the bar, but I was drunk today and I was walking out of the compound without any of Mason's lackeys trailing me. I took in a deep breath of fresh air, feeling free.

I walked down the road for a few more minutes before sitting by the edge of the road and wondering what a mess my life has been these past few months.

An SUV stopped beside me and the back window rolled down. "Beth?" A familiar voice called out and I raised my head, trying to look at who it was.

Oh. Adrian. Of course it was him. I grinned, staggering to my feet and he frowned, noticing my state.

"Are you drunk?" He asked.

"No."

He shot me a look and I shrugged. "Maybe."

"Yes or no?" He demanded and I rolled my eyes.

"Fine. Yes, I am."
