"You freaking what?" Erica's eyes widened, and then she burst out laughing, "Prison has indeed driven you nuts!"
The entire Sinclair household and the Cooper entourage joined in the laughter, mocking Tyler.
Erica pointed at him with condescension. "Look at you! You are worse off than ever! Your family is bankrupt if you don't know already! Do you want me to live in your moldy haunted house?"
"You're an ex-convict if you haven't forgotten already! Nobody will give you a job, not even to scrub floors! Only an idiot woman would love a gutter scum like you!"
Tyler gritted his teeth and took a step forward. "It's not my fault that Trent ruined my life! He put me in prison for defending you! He stole my father's business! Doesn't that bother you? Didn't you think twice before betraying your lover?"
Erica's face twisted in disdain. “Stop blabbering nonsense! Lover? You are delusional! I dated you back then because you had a bright future, and your dad owned a growing business."
"Now, my parents have shown me the truth. That I deserve an eligible, successful man like Trent. Dating you was the worst mistake of my life!"
This came as another shock to Tyler. He weaved cobwebs of wonder with his girlfriend and went to prison for her. It turned out she never loved him in the first place. Everything was a farce.
The young man's emotions subsided as Erica kept vomiting insults, revealing her true face. During the three years in prison, Tyler regretted leaving her behind at Trent's mercy. Now that he realized it was a delusion, he felt as if a burden had been lifted from his shoulders.
Erica wasn't done harrowing him. "Trent is one of the top billionaire scions of the city. Look around and see what he has gifted me—the mansion, the servants, and the pageantry. He paid for the renovation of my home and pulled us out of poverty! I choose him!"
Tyler simmered down and watched his ex with cold eyes. "I ask you again. Are you sure you won't regret this decision?"
The young woman flashed the jewel around her neck. "Regret? Look at this ten-thousand-dollar diamond necklace! Do you know where we are getting married? My dream venue—the luxurious Marian Hotel!"
Erica looked like she was in a trance. She twirled in joy and put her arms around Trent. "Elite guests and celebrities will grace my wedding! My future husband has promised me the life of a Queen!"
From Trent's embrace, she turned her head and laid her eyes on Tyler again. Her expression turned sour. "Compared to him, you are a filthy maggot wriggling in the sewers!"
Erica betrayed her lady-like personality and spat on the ground. "I regret every moment I spent with you and wish your existence was erased! Today is my wedding day. Don't spoil it by loitering around with your deadbeat face and your homeless stink! Get out!"
The Cooper heir laughed aloud. "Hope you heard her, tramp! Erica is mine! Go back to your cripple mother and your manual scavenger father! You must be starving. Maybe they will beg for food in your locality and bring you some stale bread! If you come within a mile of Erica again, I will break your legs—"
Tyler turned sharply, and his aura transformed. His piercing eyes were ablaze with a fury. On encountering the young man's blistering gaze, Trent paused mid-sentence as a chill ran down his spine. What madness did he bring back with him from prison?
"I dare you to insult my parents again!" Tyler thundered.
Trent gulped anxiously and retreated into the safety of his bodyguards. "Don't act cocky! Prison may have made you loud-mouthed, but that doesn't change your social status or power level. I can toy with your life while you can't even harm a hair on my head!"
The billionaire heir cackled aloud. "Let me tell you the truth to your face! I usurped your father's business. All it took was a phone call. I sent the Hux gang to harass your parents every week. They tortured your bitch mother so much, she became crippled!"
"What are you going to do about it, huh? Stray dogs like you can only bark loudly and will ultimately bow down to true power! For your insolence, I'll send the Hux gang to poke out your parents' eyes tomorrow!"
A switch flipped inside Tyler. He fixed his stare at Trent and began walking towards him. Immediately, two Cooper bodyguards lunged at the young man. A few others formed a protective barrier before their master.
Bam! Bam! The guards who rushed Tyler found themselves licking the road. With a swipe of his arm, he cast away the human barrier of bodyguards as if they were lifeless dolls.
Exposed to harm, Trent gave out a feminine yelp and backed away, terror-stricken. How did Tyler Grant get so strong?
The billionaire heir couldn't go far though. He found himself trapped between the wedding limousine and his attacker.
"Don't touch me!" he exclaimed in a shrill voice with his back against the Rolls Royce. "My father will kill you! Stay away! Help me, anybody!"
However, none of his guards were close enough to rescue him. Tyler pulled back his arm and swung it at Trent. The latter closed his eyes, screaming in horror.
Crack! Tyler's fist narrowly missed the guy, instead landing on the limousine behind him. It was intentional. The vehicle shattered and tumbled away as if a massive truck had rammed into it. When it stopped with a screech, it looked like a crumpled block of scrap metal.
Trent fell on the ground and tried to crawl away feebly, whimpering like an animal. He couldn't fathom where the inhuman, explosive strength came from.
Tyler had no intention of letting his target escape. He raised his foot to stamp on Trent's face.
