The goddess stared back at Tyler, hatred, and betrayal swimming in her eyes. Or was it mixed with doubt and self-loathing? It was difficult for Tyler to tell, with sharp claws inside his chest and while drowning in his own blood.
But clearly, Kat wasn’t enjoying killing the one she loved. As moments passed and she realized Tyler wasn’t resisting her attack, her expression turned to one of disbelief.
Why wasn’t he defending himself? What was wrong with him? Didn’t he cheat on her? Aren’t Seraphim Kings all womanizers?
Why would Tyler be any different? Why would such a powerful man allow his rejected divorcee to take his life?
Something changed in Kat’s eyes, and her arm slackened. Tears rolled down her cheeks. The goddess pulled out her hand from the man’s chest.
“Aaarghhh!” Tyler groaned as the sharp claws slipped out of his broken ribs and chest cavity.
Kat stood on her toes and kissed him on the lips. “Please… Heal yourself… Please… I’m so sorry…”
