I Didn't Sign Up For This!

Chapter 3: This Isn't What I Signed Up For.

Just a few meters away from where Draco woke up, there was a large forest. The eerie feeling it gave him started putting doubt in his mind. As a response to that, he got more cautious, looking around for any potential enemies and, more importantly, the DAMNED twigs.

The trees were very large, and the sunlight barely reached the ground, but maybe because he was an Imp, Draco didn't have difficulty seeing ahead.

He walked forward slowly, thinking excitedly about the boons he would get from his first devoured creature.

He heard a twig breaking and turned to look. There, just around 10 meters away from him, was what he assumed to be a goblin—or rather, goblins! There Were 3!

They were surrounding a dead goblin and a dead wolf, which he supposed they killed, because right now they were mercilessly stabbing it with their rusty swords and one was even directly enjoying the meal.

'Well sh*t, This isn't what I signed up for.' He thought, not thinking that the first encounter he has would be with multiple enemies.

'System Analysis.' Draco quickly hid behind a tree and snuck a look at the goblins to analyse them.

'Shit, Shit! What are these monstrosities? Are they really goblins? Just one of them is enough to flip me over 5 times! Wasn't an Imp supposed to be on par with a goblin?' Draco was intimidated as he hid himself and caught his mouth so he wouldn't accidentally make a noise.

'Weren't goblins supposed to be weak?' His mind ran a mile a second while his heart beat uncontrollably.

'Calm down, Draco. Don't move.' he calmed himself down.

'I'm still weak right now so I should wait till they leave before I try to devour the dead monsters.' he planned. Thankfully, he didn't have to wait for long.

"AWOOOO!" A howl echoed through the woods, scaring the goblins, who were still stabbing their prey sh*tless. The goblins didn't wait for a single more second before they threw their sword and ran in the direction of Draco.

*Fwshh*

Blurry figures passed left and right of the imp making him open his eyes wide.

'What just happened?' Draco, who felt a shiver run down his spine, seeing the speed at which the goblins ran, turned to look behind the tree.

Just as his eyes caught the dead goblin and wolf, his system's voice answered in his mind.

[Host, Please hurry up and [Devour] The dead monsters, the wolves will be here any second now.]

Draco didn't think anymore and sped forward to do as he was told. He wasn't going to miss free loot.

Running with all his might he reached the corpses in seconds before he dove right in, ignoring the pungent smell coming from them.

"Activate [Devouring]" He commanded with slight anxiety, He aimed his hands at them and a black and red vortex shot out of it and directly at the monsters.
