Wounded Needing Treatment

Dylan was overjoyed upon hearing this news. Having doctors meant Georgia and Dorothy would be safe. It seemed he had come to the right place.

"In the pharmacy on the basement first floor! But don't get too excited yet. Without electricity, they won't treat patients at night!" the leader reminded Dylan as he saw Dylan's joyful expression.

Dylan smiled confidently. They might not have electricity, but he did.

"Thank you!" Dylan expressed his gratitude and immediately led Alberta and Jodie towards the hospital's office building.

Upon entering the office building, they found the staircase leading to the basement blocked by iron bars and locked from the inside.

Without hesitation, Dylan began knocking and shouting.

"Doctor! Is there a doctor here?"

After knocking several times, a voice from below finally sounded impatient.

"Who's this fool? Don't you know it's dark and you're not allowed to disturb us at night? Get lost!"

Although they heard a voice, they didn't see anyone. It seemed like they were too lazy to come up and explain.

"We have wounded comrades in need of treatment. Can we come in?" Dylan tried to make his tone as polite as possible, considering they were asking for a favor.

"Don't you understand? It's dark, and we can't treat anyone now. Come back tomorrow!" the person inside said angrily.

"No! It's urgent, and we must treat them immediately! We have flashlights; we're not afraid of the dark!" Dylan insisted.

When the person downstairs saw the light from Dylan's flashlight, suddenly there was silence.

After a while, three men came up the stairs from below. They were wearing military coats and holding axes. Approaching the gate, they carefully examined Dylan's group.

The tall, bearded man leading the group asked, "Which one of you is injured?"

"It's not one of us three; the injured person is in the car!" Dylan replied.

"Was it a zombie bite?" the man asked sternly.

"No!" Dylan's response was firm.

Seeing Dylan's resolute answer, the man reminded them sternly, "Don't lie. If we find out it's a zombie bite, don't blame us for being ruthless!"

As he spoke, he raised the axe and tapped his own head lightly, implying that if they discovered a zombie bite, they wouldn't hesitate to kill the wounded.

"We're not lying!" Dylan assured them.

The man continued, "We don't treat patients for free here, you understand?"

Dylan nodded; he understood this. He didn't expect anyone to treat them out of the goodness of their heart.

"We understand. Just tell us what you need," Dylan said.

The man nodded in satisfaction. "We'll see what your wounded comrades' injuries are like first. However, you'll have to leave those three flashlights with us, deal?"

Dylan didn't mind leaving behind the three flashlights; he had plenty more in his space.

"Sure, no problem!"Seeing Dylan's prompt agreement, the man was also pleased.

"Alright, go bring your wounded comrade!"

Dylan wasted no time, leading Alberta and Jodie back to the car, then driving the car directly to the entrance of the office building.

The three men were already waiting at the entrance.

Seeing Dylan's large heavy-duty off-road camper, the eyes of the three men lit up.

"Boss, this is a big car, looks like a camper. Look, there are lights on inside!" one of them whispered.

"Seen it. This car is extraordinary!" the leader acknowledged.

"Boss, if we had a car like this, driving it out would be much more convenient!" another one chimed in quietly.

Hearing this, the leader's heart stirred.

With such a hefty heavy-duty off-road camper, they wouldn't fear zombies chasing them.

They could even run over the zombies directly.

With it, their strength would definitely increase.

Seeing Dylan and his group coming down from the camper, he made a decision!

Dylan left Garrett to watch the car.

He carried Georgia on his back, while Alberta and Jodie helped Dorothy follow behind.

When they reached the entrance, the man suddenly stopped them.

"When you enter, no weapons allowed. Hand over your knives first, and you'll get them back when you leave!" the man demanded.

Upon hearing this, Alberta and Jodie frowned.

Dylan smiled and ignored him, turning back to Alberta and Jodie, saying, "Since they won't allow knives, let's put them back in the car!"

Alberta and Jodie nodded in agreement and gave their knives to Garrett in the car.

The three men were annoyed that Dylan didn't follow their instructions.

However, since Dylan and his group were unarmed now, they couldn't say anything.

They could only glare at Dylan unwillingly and lead Dylan's group towards the pharmacy on the basement first floor.

"You, stay here and watch this place!" When they reached the staircase, the leader signaled to one of his men.

Understanding the signal, the man immediately stood at the staircase and didn't move.

The remaining two men escorted Dylan's group directly to the pharmacy.

The pharmacy was quite spacious, and the flashlight could only illuminate so far before hitting the walls.

In one corner of the pharmacy, there was a fire pit. Beside the fire pit was a table with several bottles of liquor and seven or eight glasses.

It seemed that before Dylan's arrival, these men were drinking.

However, with so many glasses, why were there only three men?

Dylan and his group were brought to the fire pit, and the leader shouted behind a row of shelves.

"Come on, Dr. Kelly, come out and greet the guests!"

Dylan was startled; this sounded like something out of a shampoo commercial.

However, when he saw Dr. Kelly emerge from behind the shelves, Dylan's heart skipped a beat.

The so-called Dr. Kelly was a woman.

And a very beautiful young woman at that.

Her long hair was tied up into a bun on top of her head, accentuating her already delicate and lovely face, making her even more charming.

Dr. Kelly glanced at Dylan and then at Georgia on his back and Dorothy behind him, her expression unchanged as she asked, "Where are the injuries?"

"The back has a wound, and the arm behind it is dislocated!" Dylan replied truthfully.

Doctor Kelly frowned upon hearing this and said to Dylan, "Then you bring the one on your back in here first, let me take a look!"

With that said, she went into the shelves first.

Dylan hurriedly followed in, only to discover that inside was actually a makeshift clinic.

Doctor Kelly had Dylan lay Georgia face down on a bed.

Then she took Dylan's flashlight, opened the gauze on Georgia's back, and shone it on the wound.

Doctor Kelly suddenly frowned and said, "The wound is too deep, medical conditions are limited, there is no need to save her!"

Dylan was suddenly enraged and bewildered.

"What do you mean there's no need to save her? You haven't even tried and you're saying there's no hope?"

He shouted angrily at Doctor Kelly.

Alberta and Jodie, upon hearing Dylan's shouts, hurriedly came in with Dorothy.

The two men followed suit.

"Doctor Kelly, if there's a chance to save her, shouldn't we try?" The lead man suddenly spoke up.

Doctor Kelly's eyes flashed with disgust upon hearing the man's voice.

However, she still nodded in agreement and said, "We can try."

The man, hearing Doctor Kelly's response, smiled and said, "Exactly! We can try! But since the injury is severe, the reward must be high. That's what you mean, Doctor Kelly, right?"

After hearing this, Doctor Kelly coldly replied, "Yes."

Dylan looked at Doctor Kelly, then at the man, and said, "The reward is not a problem, as long as you can save my friend, I will give whatever it takes!"

Upon hearing Dylan's words, Doctor Kelly looked up at him in surprise.

The man clapped his hands and said, "Good, loyal and righteous, that's a man! In that case, let Doctor Kelly do her best to cure your friend.

As a reward, besides these three flashlights, you must also give us the heavy-duty off-road camper van!"

Upon hearing this, Dylan, Alberta, and the others were stunned.

Damn!

That's really asking too much!

Isn't this just taking advantage of the situation?

"You dare to ask for such a big reward just for treating a wound? A camper van?" Jodie said indignantly.

The man sneered when he heard this. "Haha, thought you were all about loyalty and righteousness, turns out your friend means less to you than a car? How laughable!"

"You…" Jodie was about to retort angrily but was stopped by Dylan.

"Fine! As long as you can cure my friend, the camper van is yours!"

Dylan's expression was calm, as if he didn't care at all.

But inside, he was sneering.

Humph, trying to play me like this?

You're really asking for death!
