Losing Control

Dylan felt something was amiss. How could an ability upgrade take so long? Could she be losing control?

Moreover, there was drool at the corner of her mouth.

"Jodie!" Dylan called out, seeing that she still hadn't responded.

Alberta, worried, pushed her gently. "Jodie, wake up!"

After being shaken by Alberta, Jodie finally opened her eyes a crack. She blinked a few times and then wiped the drool from her mouth, looking confused. "What's wrong?"

Dylan wasn't pleased. "What's wrong? We've all been waiting for you to see what changes your ability upgrade brought. Why haven't you reacted?"

"Oh? Hehe! Sorry, I just fell asleep!" Jodie said sheepishly.

"Damn it!" Dylan cursed upon hearing that Jodie had fallen asleep. So, they had all waited for her in vain!

Alberta chuckled, "You're quite something, falling asleep even while sitting."

Jodie blushed and muttered, "I was just too tired!"

"Did your ability change at all?" Alberta continued to ask.

"Oh, let me check." With that, Jodie closed her eyes again.

This time, it was quick. In no time, she opened her eyes again. However, there was no excitement on her face.

She simply said, "There isn't much change.

I just feel like I can play the flute more easily now.

Before, I would get tired after a while, but now I feel like I could play for two hours straight without any problem."

It seemed that Jodie's ability hadn't undergone any significant changes; it had just been strengthened.

Dylan noticed that their ability levels had all been raised to level 2.

At this point, he picked up two 3-star crystals and thought carefully.

Whom should he give them to?

After considering for a while, he decided to give one each to Dorothy and Georgia.

Finally, after a full five minutes, Dorothy managed to swallow the 4-star crystal. She quickly closed her eyes.
