He Doesn't Accept

When Alberta and Jodie heard this, they didn't respond but looked at Dylan together.

Dylan looked at the college students and said, "Any awakened abilities among you?"

The college students looked at each other, but no one spoke.

Dylan shook his head as he looked at them.

Trash, he doesn't accept.

However, he still gave them a glimmer of hope.

He took out a crystal and said to the college students, "See this? It was taken out from a zombie's head.

If any of you can collect 100 of these crystals, you can directly find me at the Purple Mountain Villa area.

I may consider accepting you as temporary members. If you can't even do this, forget about it! Of course, if any of you awaken abilities, you don't need these crystals.

You can come find me directly!"

Dylan set a threshold for these surviving college students. Whether they could achieve it or not depended on their own luck.

Although everyone would awaken abilities, if they had no abilities before awakening, they probably wouldn't survive long enough to awaken.

After leaving his words, Dylan walked away without looking back, driving towards the next destination.

Dylan and his team chose the Bluewater Bay Medical College as their next destination.

This university was Kelly's alma mater, and they chose it because Kelly was familiar with the terrain inside the medical college.

Since this college campus was relatively large, Dylan decided to divide the team into two groups. This would save time, and he also intended to train the members' autonomy.

The lowest energy level among them was over a hundred years, and Alberta and the others had over five hundred years. Safety-wise, he wasn't worried.

In the future, as they became more mature, they should be allowed to act on their own.

"Dorothy, Georgia, Hannibal, Laurel, you four will be a group, commanded by Georgia. Follow the original strategy. Hannibal is responsible for attracting zombies, and then you clean up bit by bit," Dylan instructed.

The reason Dylan grouped them together was mainly because of their combination of abilities. Georgia for long-range attacks, Dorothy for mid-range attacks, Laurel for close combat, and Hannibal for speed and agility.

"Alberta, Jodie, Kelly, and I will be a group."

These three had relatively special abilities and didn't belong to the combat type. Dylan felt it was safer for them to follow him. Especially Kelly, she was a nurse.

When they had more members in the future, he would create a medical support team specifically for her.

This way, they could ensure treatment efficiency and their own safety.

"Kelly, describe the terrain inside the medical college to everyone so they can become familiar with it," Dylan instructed Kelly.

Kelly thought for a moment, picked up a small stick from the ground, and drew a rough sketch in the snow. She detailed the distribution of the dormitories, supermarket, and cafeteria in the school.

After understanding it, Dylan had Georgia's group go to the girls' dormitory and then clean up all the way to the cafeteria. His own group went to the boys' dormitory and cleaned up all the way to the supermarket.

Finally, both groups gathered at the main gate.

Without further ado, the two groups immediately began to act separately.

Since everyone had combat experience, the cleanup went smoothly.

Dylan's group finished cleaning up the boys' dormitory area first, then headed towards the supermarket. As they passed the playground, Dylan's group also cleaned up the wandering zombies there.

Arriving at the supermarket, Dylan noticed that this campus supermarket was not as large as the one at the Bluewater Bay Art Academy.

Moreover, there were many zombie remains scattered around the empty space in front of the supermarket's entrance.

It seemed that there were survivors inside the supermarket, and they had some strength; otherwise, they wouldn't have killed so many zombies.

However, the crystals in the zombies' foreheads, which were usually valuable, were left intact.

It appeared that these people didn't know the purpose of the crystals.

Without hesitation, Dylan cleared out the remaining zombies and took all the crystals from their foreheads. Who would refuse to take something for free?

While they were digging out the crystals, the door of the supermarket opened, and approximately 50 survivors walked out one after another.

A middle-aged woman, leading them, was surprised when she saw Kelly. "Kelly?"

Upon hearing the call, Kelly looked over and was pleasantly surprised. "Professor Diego!"

This Professor Diego was Kelly's former teacher, so Kelly recognized her at a glance.

Professor Diego excitedly grabbed Kelly's hand. "Kelly, you're alive. I'm so glad. By the way, what are you doing here at the school?"

Kelly replied, "We're here to clear out the zombies."

Professor Diego was puzzled. While others avoided zombies, why were Kelly and her group actively seeking them out for cleanup?

She glanced at the crystals in Kelly's hand and the zombies with their foreheads excavated, questioning, "Is it for this thing? What's the use of it?"

Upon hearing Professor Diego's question, Kelly hesitated and didn't answer but looked towards Dylan.

She knew that some information seemed not to be shared with outsiders, so she wanted to hear what Dylan had to say.

Dylan understood and smiled, addressing Professor Diego, "Well, let's just say it's quite useful.

If you collect these things in the future, you can bring them to the Purple Mountain Villa area to exchange for supplies with us.

As for the rest, it's classified."

Dylan didn't reveal everything. These people were only acquaintances of Kelly, and he wasn't obligated to share such crucial information with them.

Currently, his advantage lay in information disparity. Although many people outside already knew the secret of crystals and temporal energy, these survivors from the schools had been isolated from the outside world and were unaware.

The fewer people who knew, the better, as it would prolong his advantage.

By the time everyone knew about the secret of crystals, he would have already seized the opportunity and obtained a large number of them.

Who in Bluewater Bay City could surpass him then?

With only a limited number of crystals available, taking more for himself meant others would have less.

It was impossible for others to catch up to him.

Understanding Dylan's tone, Professor Diego knew he didn't want to disclose the truth to her.

Of course, she couldn't blame him, as they had no relationship whatsoever, and he had no obligation to share such information.

As for her former student Kelly, it was clear she couldn't make decisions on her own, and Professor Diego wouldn't blame her.

Feeling the atmosphere becoming a bit awkward, Dylan glanced at the young students behind Professor Diego.

Most of them were boys, and there were very few girls.

This was the reality of the post-apocalyptic world—surviving women were much rarer than men.

This scarcity of women explained why they were highly valued.

Reflecting on it, Louise's care for the girls under her command seemed wise.

However, it was also related to her previous occupation.

Returning his thoughts, Dylan asked Professor Diego, "Did you and your students kill those zombies earlier?"
