Chapter Sixty-One

Seth had been teaching Theo for the last twenty-five days. Some days, Nes watched them, some days, she spent her time with Jin, and some days, she simply slept. Jin kept an eye on her to notice any change in her behavior. He was actually very worried about her.

"What are you planning?" Nes asked. She asked the same question every day. Jin answered the same thing every day as well. She always ended up forgetting it.

"To do what you want," Jin said.

"What do I want?" This was the second question she always asked.

"You want to get away from everything," Jin said. "What you want, Nes, is something only you can know."

"Not now," she said. "I cannot remember. I keep forgetting everything. Seth tells me everything is fine. I'm no fool. I know nothing is fine. At least, not for me."

Jin observed her. "You look different."

"Different how?" she asked.

"You are wearing your hair down. It's even combed properly."

"Seth combed it."
