CHAPTER 3- Just Turned Eighteen~
In the night, Yulia had a beautiful dream.
She dreamt that her stern mother finally agreed to let her keep a pet at home.
So, she brought the little bunny back to her abode~
No longer would she let it wear that old school uniform.
Instead, she tried on every pretty dress from her wardrobe for it.
She imagined it wearing an off-shoulder white dress~
With slender hands adorned in black opera gloves that reached the elbows.
Its delicate underarms exposed to the air.
Oh my!
Not only did she want to raise the little bunny, but she also wanted to keep it in her own bed~
To wake up in the morning with its softness in her embrace.
Toying with its long ears as if rolling chicken wraps, licking the tips, gently holding them in her mouth.
The delight was beyond words.
Yulia lay there, giggling foolishly, saliva almost dripping onto the sheets.
Alas, the magic alarm clock rang untimely, reminding her of the early class today.
Reluctantly, she crawled out from the warmth of her covers, shuffling in her slippers towards the bathroom.
Warm water flowed from the brass pipes, and steam gradually filled the room.
Yulia wiped the fog from the mirror, gazing at her own lake-blue starry eyes opening softly.
Dragonkin girls often have a head of radiant golden hair.
But a few pure-blooded nobles like Yulia have snow-white hair, as pristine as a field of blooming pear flowers.
Compared to her peers, Yulia was a bit shorter, lacking the long legs and tall stature of other girls.
But being small does not mean being weak.
As the strongest sensory domain magician among the students, Yulia had undisputed strength in stealth, reconnaissance, and discerning weaknesses.
She even learned how to apply magic to survey mineral veins and collect and investigate rare flora and fauna.
Her goal was not just to be the strongest of her batch.
She aspired to surpass her predecessors!
She wished she could spend every moment learning new magical knowledge.
But ever since she discovered the little rabbit girl, she found observing the small pet to be quite interesting…
"Cough cough! This is called balancing work and leisure! It soothes the mind and releases stress."
The thought of the bunny brought a pleased smile to Yulia's lips.
She couldn't suppress the urge to laugh.
However, one thing had been on Yulia's mind.
She was eager to understand how the rabbit girl's rain-avoiding ability came about.
This morning happened to have two consecutive zoology classes.
The professor introduced several new magical creatures.
Mostly brought back by adventurer teams heading to the New World.
After class, Yulia went to ask the professor.
To her surprise, after hearing Yulia's description, the professor shook his head in confusion.
"You say she has white ears like a rabbit, but not the rose-red eyes of one."
"I've lived more than half my life and have never seen such a species."
"Is there only this one?"
"If you can find her again, protect her first."
"Observe her for a while."
"Record her habits."
"This could already be your course paper."
"As for whether to breed this rare species, that requires further thorough research."
"About the rain avoidance…"
"Are you sure it's not the effect of some scroll or other magical item?"
"You should study it more carefully."
"Also, you just said you wanted to learn more about Draconic magic."
"That subject is quite profound."
"Although the dragon race is our ancestor, and every dragonkin has a trace of the ancient dragon bloodline flowing within…"
"Nowadays, not even a single living dragon can be found in the world, and the language of dragons is a lost tongue."
"No one even knows what the dragons looked like anymore."
"We rely on ancient texts for reconstruction, but we can only restore a fraction of the whole."
"Draconic magic is less a magic and more a command…"
"Because the language itself carries great power."
"It doesn't require gestures or a wand as a casting medium; the moment it's spoken, a rule forms around."
"The tonality is simply too beautiful."
"A few short syllables can convey a wealth of meaning."
"If you're interested, you can join me in researching these texts in the future."
…
Now, Yulia can rightfully observe the little rabbit girl in secret.
Yulia was overjoyed, dashing to the place where she had encountered her the day before, but the familiar figure was nowhere to be seen by the teahouse's tables.
Where could she have gone?
Yulia pinched her wand, silently reciting a spell.
Threads of red began to weave before her eyes, outlining the little rabbit girl's path and whereabouts.
She had likely spent the night in the deserted automat teahouse, and by day, ventured near the school's Adventurers' Guild.
A hub for posting and accepting various commissions.
Yulia inwardly cursed her luck!
Countless adventurer teams congregated in the tavern below the guild, chatting, drinking, and boasting.
The place was a mix of all sorts.
Who knows, perhaps a team leader, in a drunken stupor, might impulsively recruit the little rabbit girl as a mascot who needn't do anything.
Yulia hurried after her, discovering that she had indeed registered her adventurer information.
However, it seemed no team was willing to enlist her.
They merely regarded her as a curious new breed of pet.
Once she left, the crowd's conversation shifted to other topics.
Yulia breathed a sigh of relief.
Now the question was—
What exactly had the little rabbit girl filled in when registering?
Did she truly possess any abilities that could contribute to an adventurer team?
With immense curiosity, Yulia flipped open the page.
Name: Qita Kachinskaya.
Age: Just turned eighteen.
Yulia almost laughed out loud at this point.
From any perspective, this little darling couldn't possibly be eighteen.
Even if she were, there was no need to emphasize it with "just turned."
Taking a sip of water to prevent herself from laughing, Yulia continued reading.
Profession: Scholar.
This section was supposed to be filled with classifications like magician, warrior, or cleric, and scholars would typically identify themselves as magicians.
But Qita seemed unaware of this unwritten rule.
Areas of expertise: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography.
It was as if she had filled in all the vocabulary she knew in one breath…
But in reality, this section should contain the specialized fields of each profession.
For instance, a close-combat mage should fill in "Combat Domain," and a mystic scholar should fill in "Psychic Domain."
Yulia felt her face was about to freeze into a smile.
She took out that page, floated away from the Adventurers' Guild, and continued to pursue Qita, eager to see what new antics the little rabbit would come up with next.
