Chapter 31: Spending hero points

As Chu Cheng opened his eyes, he felt a renewed sense of energy after the fight.

He observed that his stamina had recovered and his body had undergone further enhancements, thanks to the game's ability to not only control superheroes from DC and Marvel, but also improve his physical fitness.

In fact, the last time he went to the secret service headquarters to test his strength, Professor Miyazaki was let down by the test results. He had hoped to see remarkable physical prowess in Chu Cheng, but it didn't meet his expectations.

Chu Cheng felt proud of his progress. He lived in a regular apartment and excelled only in gaming. He was the type who was meek in real life but fierce in games.

So the results of the physical test were actually quite good compared to his peers.

Despite playing only a few times since acquiring the game, the physical enhancement is already showing impressive results.

It's clear that Chu Cheng expects to make quick progress at the start due to his solid foundation. With the high potential that the game ha there is ample opportunity for improvement to his strength.

But his progress will definitely get slower and slower in the future.

He's thinking about pushing the limits of the human body to become super strong, like those people who can bend steel bars and crush rocks with their hands.

----

In addition to physical enhancement, the new heroes and equipment rewards exchanged for hero points in the store are also important.

The latest hero raises the maximum level of superheroes he can utilize. If he's lucky and gets Superman or Hulk, it will greatly boost his confidence.

Chu Cheng stood up to freshen up; after freshening up, he switched into clean clothes, ordered some takeout, and returned to the computer.

His mind is clear after sleeping, but he's hungry now. Playing games is exhausting. He understands that fasting for too long is bad for the body, so he won't wait for the takeaway.

He logged into the game and clicked on the store.

After completing the fight, Batman and Chu Cheng were both exhausted and needed rest.

Now after resting up it is natural to take a look at the rewards.

Last night, he dealt with the casino thugs and a dangerous infection source with Agent Luo last night.

He faced off against a colossal tentacle monster in a high-stakes showdown. Ultimately, he witnessed Batman confronting his fears and eliminating the source of the infection.

After such a big event, the rewards are certainly not the same as compared to street gangsters. Upon logging in, he found over 2,400 coins and a C-level hero point coupon that could be traded for eight single-draw chances at the store.

Sweet!

Chu was extremely poor after the initial ten draws in a row during the tutorial, but this sudden surge of points is definitely a big gain.

Chu Cheng didn't hesitate. He stood up, washed his hands in the bathroom to remove bad luck, then returned to the computer to start the gatcha draw system.

The dream of hitting the jackpot when gambling is often shattered by the disappointing reality. Unethical video games decrease the pull rates, breaking the unrealistic fantasies of players repeatedly.

Chu Cheng clicked on the C-level discounted draw showing the result of his first pull...

Thank you for participating.

It's inconsequential. It is 50 points for each draw on the Hero banner, and having 2400+ points is plenty for him to do 48 draws.

The initial drawing that didn't work out was just a practice. In other words, he was building pity.

So Chu Cheng continued.

Draw! Thank you for your participation!

Draw! Thank you for your participation!

Draw! Thank you for your participation!

After 13 failed draws. Chu Cheng's face grew darker, and his mood began to shift. He clicked the draw button for the fourteenth time, his hand shaking.

Please be a hero even some equipment would be fine!

Draw!

They say miracles come from hope, so Chu Cheng wondered if it was because he clicked the mouse with such determination. After thirteen consecutive fails, the screen suddenly lit up with a burst of brightness.

The screen revealed a women holding a pair of sai daggers.

Elektra is a Marvel character and a close friend of Daredevil. A top assassin and a master of fighting and stealth, she can at least be considered a second-tier character in Marvel.

Despite her skills, she will still be utilized as a backup.

Clearly, Batman is superior in all aspects compared to Elektra.

Chu Cheng discovered that a large number of heroes in the C-level hero pool have similar problems. In this tier, there are many mortal heroes, but Batman is considered the one of the best among them, making the rest appear less impressive.

Regardless continue to draw!

2 pieces of hero equipment, 6 fails, and 2new characters.

Another new character showed up on screen. Revealing a women with silver hair in a tight body suit. Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, thief, anti-hero, and a love interest of Spider-Man.

She is a cat-like thief and it is easy to see that she is the Marvel version of Catwoman, and even the fact that she likes to entangle with the protagonist is also copied.

Of course, what happened to Marvel and DC can't be called plagiarism; it's called sophistication. After all, there are a lot of creative exchanges between these two companies.

Marvel imitated the Justice League today, and DC will imitate the Avengers tomorrow. DC made a suicide squad and Marvel immediately comes up with the idea of the Thunderbolts. Can you confirm if it's a fluke or not?

She may not be useful; after all, she is a thief and does not have high fighting powers. Although Batman is not good at stealing things he is a superhero and not a thief. The character of Black Cat has theft-specialization skills. If you want to steal or do a stealth mission in the future, he will consider using her.

However, there was another new character in the recent draws.

Chu Cheng looked bewildered.

Do Marvel and DC have such a hero?

Looking at the image of the hero in the picture again, I see a black man with the same hairstyle as Lex Luthor, tall and thick, with a muscular body in a funny vest, and a skull with the same style as the Punisher on his chest.

No, no matter how you look at it, this guy looks like the kind of cannon fodder that Batman would deal with every night. He at best is an elite mob.

And what is the name Crowbar? Who names a person Crowbar?

Opening the character introduction, Chu Cheng was lost in thought, pondering if the guy had a tragic past. Crowbar's code name could be a hint related to the character.

But no. After reading the profile, Chu Cheng was even more confused.

The introduction said that this crowbar is a villain in DC comics. He was originally just an ordinary gang leader. The reason why it is called a crowbar is because a crowbar makes it easier for him to fight in the streets.

It seems reasonable, but he always feel that there is something wrong with the description.

The introduction said that he was spotted by a super villain and joined a villain organization. The leader felt that the members of the super villain alliance were too weak and seemed amateurish, he generously expressed his willingness to distribute a high-tech weapon to each member.

So the boss asked, What specialties does your name have? Crowbar panicked at the time and said that I am called Crowbar, and my specialty is that I use the crowbar.

The boss fell silent after hearing this. And shortly after that, Crowbar got the first and only high-tech weapon in his life, which also gave him a "super criminal" qualification: a high tech crowbar that emit waves.

Seeing this, Chu Cheng wondered: Maybe the boss back then couldn't think of any super weapons related to crowbars, so he found a plasma energy rifle or something and turned it into a crowbar for him.

So how can their character design be more casual! ?

Also, from the introduction, shouldn't this guy be an subpar villain or something? Why does he appear in the pool of superheroes?

He then realized that this person once joined the anti-hero organization "Suicide Squad" and worked for the government. The Suicide Squad is both good and evil. Although it is composed of villains, most of its members are recognized as anti-heroes, just like Marvel's "Thunderbolt.".

Chu Cheng: "..."

So will this 18th-line anti-hero character can also appear in the character pool?

He seems to understand a little bit.

It's similar to when a restaurant reduces the portion sizes of their dishes..

Then he thought of the countless third-tier, fifth-tier, and eighteenth-tier unpopular heroes that Marvel and DC have produced in the past hundred years since their founding.
