Chapter 103: Upgraded Summoning Pool

In addition to unlocking new features for the team-up and double combat, it also meant developing new abilities for him.

This time, after considering the many new heroes, Chu Cheng decided to give the opportunity to the team's newest hero, Moon Knight.

When it comes to abilities, there was little doubt. The hero pool didn't have many superpowered characters, and Moon Knight's skills were among the most intriguing.

He had basic strength and physical enhancements, plus a special ability to see and interact with spirit beings. This could be useful if real ghosts exist in their world, though it's still unclear if they do.

While many heroes focus on powers and technology, few specialize in dealing with supernatural threats. If ghosts do appear, Moon Knight's ability to deal with them could be very valuable.

However, the game's description of "hero skills" can be vague. There's some uncertainty about what exactly Moon Knight's skills entail. Chu Cheng had previously drawn skills from the American team and superpowers, but he was lucky this time to avoid tricky skills like super healing and spiritual vision.

Instead, he drew a "gun specialization" skill.

Moon Knight, known as Mark Spector, was a skilled mercenary before becoming a superhero. He was adept with various weapons, which is why he had this skill.

It's not useless, but it's not the best option either, especially since it's hard to find a practical use for it right now.

Then came the most exciting part: drawing from the card pool.

When the card-drawing interface opened, Chu Cheng was thrilled to see a new option: the "B-level teleportation array," which appeared next to the old "C-level teleportation array."

**B-level Hero Pool:** This can be activated using hero points to summon more powerful superheroes or equipment. Each activation costs 50 hero points.

Chu Cheng was overjoyed!

He had expected that higher-level teleportation arrays would be expensive, but this upgrade was surprisingly affordable.

The old C-level Hero Pool mostly summoned ordinary heroes, with occasional superpowered ones. The B-level Hero Pool promised better heroes and equipment, making it much more appealing.

Then there had to be no hesitation—just start pulling.

In the first pull, there was a special effect. It wasn't just a "thanks for participating" message. Chu Cheng was excited, thinking it was a good sign that this pull might get something good.

But when he looked closer, he found that the special item was...

...a razor?

Chu Cheng was puzzled.

He opened the details and found out it was really a razor. Unlike the flashy ones in the store, this was the kind Wolverine might use.

Chu Cheng was disappointed.

Seriously? Did the game just add effects for razors now?

He thought this was odd, but it turned out to be just the beginning. He pulled out several more strange items, most of which he'd never heard of. Only one item, "Hulk's Legendary Pants," seemed noteworthy.

But even after examining the pants, he didn't see anything special about them. To be honest, he was skeptical.

In his mind, Hulk's pants should be as tough as anything Captain America might use. They'd need to withstand Hulk's transformations and epic battles, yet here they were—just ordinary pants, and not even in good shape.

He was hoping for something like Green Lantern's power ring or Wonder Woman's lasso. Instead, he got pants.

Chu Cheng's opinion of the lower-tier items quickly declined. He wondered why the points in the game didn't increase after upgrading. It seemed like the game developers were stuffing the item pool with useless junk.

But luckily, despite the rough start, there was still hope. After several pulls and many tries, a golden light finally shone on his screen.

Chu Cheng drew his first superhero from the B-tier pool.

From the dazzling golden light emerged a red and blue figure—slim but powerful. The red and blue suit was tight, made of elastic spandex, with a black spider-web design across the red parts.

It was Spider-Man—Marvel's famous hero, a member of the Avengers, and everyone's friendly neighborhood superhero.

— The Amazing Spider-Man.
