Chapter 174: Scored 2 degrees?

**Special Service Nine, Aircraft Carrier.**

Professor Miyazaki sat in his lab, making phone call after phone call. The situation from the front line was constantly being compiled.

The capture of those uncertain factors in the "Sentinels" plan was not going particularly smoothly, and the plan seemed to hit a wall before it even began.

Luo Yajun was the first to be captured.

Originally, at least this part of him should have been under control, but not long ago he mysteriously disappeared from this impenetrable airship, vanishing right under everyone's eyes, as if he had evaporated from existence.

It's easy to guess whose doing this is. After all, not many people in this world can come and go as they please... Well, according to Dr. Ji's guarantee, no one should be able to do this.

But we all know there are always some tricksters who like to use this place as a public toilet, going in and out like it's their backyard.

The key is that there really hasn't been a solution to the Secret Service so far.

Judging from Agent Luo Yajun's previous missions, it seems he has a special filter for the so-called "superheroes" who are disguised and masked, but so far the organization has only sensed this limitation.

No one expected there would actually be a masked lunatic who would snatch people away from the airship with such arrogance.

Fana is missing, and her whereabouts are currently unknown. The action team is still searching. So now only Liang Ye has been caught.

Originally, he should have been the hardest one to deal with, but the shackles he put on himself imposed strict restrictions on his ability to release phantoms.

He wouldn't allow himself to release phantoms without formal procedures. That's his fatal weakness.

The crazy Secret Service here is very powerful and can engage more or less with mental issues. Professor Miyazaki is the one who knows this best.

He is well aware of the agents' psychological conditions and ability characteristics, which is why the arrest work has been entrusted to him.

Professor Miyazaki picked up the phone and called the person in charge of the on-site investigation at Fana's missing apartment.

"It's me," Professor Miyazaki said lazily. "The situation has changed, so call the team back."

The person in charge was stunned: "But sir, we have found clues here. The analysis team is working, and if we hurry, we should be able to find her whereabouts tonight..."

"No need. Tell them not to work too hard," Professor Miyazaki interrupted. "The plan has changed, and the task has been canceled. Let her go. The organization just held an emergency meeting to discuss, and we have other arrangements."

"...Well, at your command, sir."

The person in charge hung up the phone and began to organize the team's closure.

Professor Miyazaki immediately called the leader of another team.

That was the team originally set to arrest Duan Lan's agents, and they were just on their way.

"It's me. The plan has changed, and the mission is canceled," Professor Miyazaki said.

"Canceled... but sir, we've just set off," the leader replied, confused.

"Yes, but the situation has changed. The organization has made new arrangements just now," Professor Miyazaki explained. "False alarm. Agent Duan Lan is not a threat. The mission is canceled."

"Okay... well, take it, sir."

After hanging up, Professor Miyazaki leaned back in his chair, tossed the phone onto the table, and waited quietly for it to ring.

It hadn't stopped all night.

This was entirely expected, and after a while, the phone rang again.

Professor Miyazaki picked up the phone, and the caller ID showed Li Changcheng.

He answered, "Yes, sir... Yes, I gave the order. Because of some new circumstances, I think it needs to be adjusted...

...Yes, I'm on the airship... Okay, I'll come over now."

After hanging up, Professor Miyazaki easily stored the phone away, got up, and started walking to the captain's office.

He walked through the corridor and arrived at the door of the captain's office. He clicked the retina recognition option on the combination lock dial, and two light blue lasers scanned his retina, confirming his identity within a second.

"Welcome, Professor Miyazaki."

The door slid open, and he walked straight into the office.

Li Changcheng turned in his chair and looked at Professor Miyazaki at the door.

"Explain," he said.

Clearly, he had received the news that Professor Miyazaki had canceled the operation.

Professor Miyazaki shrugged. "I just reassessed the situation and felt we were overreacting a bit. I know these agents; I understand each of them, both in terms of ability and psychology.

If I wasn't sure enough, I wouldn't label them stable in the file."

"With all due respect, your judgment is no longer trustworthy, Professor Miyazaki," Li Changcheng said coldly. "Detective Luo Yajun has a history of disobeying orders, and he often takes extreme actions."

There have always been doubts about him in the organization, and it has been your assurance that kept me from intervening too much. But we all saw it. He lost control and shot one of our best agents in the underground ruins. That's irrefutable evidence..."

"With all due respect, sir, there are many questions about this so-called conclusive evidence," Professor Miyazaki replied. "Many of these issues haven't been clarified."

Li Changcheng paused and looked at him with an expressionless face. "You just need to follow orders, Professor," he said.

"Sorry, but I'm a professor, not a soldier. You should know that, sir. I care more about the truth than being right or wrong. And something feels off here; what we see isn't the truth."

Li Changcheng was silent for a moment, as if deep in thought. But it didn't take long for him to look up again.

"Okay. Then it's unfortunate, Professor Miyazaki. You know, I really like you. Your talent, your dedication to the truth… it's a pity that you have to be an obstacle."

"But despite this..." His right hand emerged from under the table, pointing a black pistol at Professor Miyazaki.

"...I'm afraid you'll have to retire here."

As soon as the words left his mouth, he pulled the trigger. Fire erupted from the muzzle, and the bullet shot out faster than sound, meaning the body would be torn apart before the ears registered the gunshot.

For Professor Miyazaki, this must have felt like déjà vu. The same surprise, the same close-range shot. The bullet hit him without resistance but didn't penetrate like last time. Instead, his whole body stood firm as if made of iron. The bullet struck him, deforming upon impact, and his upper body swayed slightly, but that was all. The twisted cartridge case fell to the ground like a shriveled bean, clanging loudly.

At the moment of impact, Professor Miyazaki's body shook from his face to his upper torso, resembling a hologram with a weak signal. Li Changcheng kept his gun raised, white smoke still curling from the muzzle. His eyes widened in surprise.

"You… No, you aren't Miyazaki," he stammered, narrowing his eyes. "You are..."

As he spoke, the image of "Professor Miyazaki" changed. Light blue waves like flowing data rolled over, revealing pointed ears, a black mask, gray-black armor with bat patterns, and a long black cloak that fell to the floor.

"Holographic camouflage removed."

"...Batman!"
