Chapter 182: Trump Card

In the opening lightning strike, the batwing's first sneak attack shocked the old man, who was unsure of his age when he just woke up.

Such a sharp temperature change, such extreme freezing power—can lowly beings like this really do that? Since when did humans, whom they consider insects, possess such strength?

Of course, this level of problem isn't serious. While it surprised him, it's not enough to claim victory. After a few seconds of freezing, the ice had already begun to melt, and water poured to the ground like a waterfall, causing cracks to spread like spider webs at a visible speed.

Then came a sharp "click," and six thick arms broke free, exploding apart like an iceberg. They swung powerfully, shaking off the ice fragments and smashing countless ice pieces to the ground.

"A sharp increase in the target's body temperature was detected," Friday reported. "It seems this creature can sharply increase its body temperature to counteract the freezing bomb's effects."

In fact, it doesn't take Friday's reminder to see the clues from its appearance changes. The huge body emerging from the ice hissed with white smoke, and the high temperature distorted the light, making the space seem warped.

The freezing bombs didn't work, but the steel bats flying overhead began to catch Lytos' attention. It thought it would awaken to a world ready to bow to it, but now it sensed a slight threat. It wanted to eliminate this threat here.

One of its six arms shot up abruptly, palms and fingers spread wide, grabbing at the afterimages flying in the air. It moved incredibly fast, and when its huge arm rose, it created a transparent hurricane. But the batwing was faster. The unscientific propulsion engine at its tail allowed it to break the sound barrier in no time, using speed to escape this deadly grasp.

Lytos clearly had speed and reflexes that didn't match its massive size, but the batwing was quicker. For Lytos, it must have felt like trying to catch a supersonic fly, not only hearing the roaring engine buzzing in its ears but also experiencing the sonic boom, leaving it in a white air circle.

The eyes of the entire city were focused on this decisive battle, and the Secret Service was no exception. The group of high-level executives in the control room, all experts, sat around the table. When they saw this scene, they all turned their gaze to Dr. Hines in unison.

Dr. Hines knew what they wanted to ask without needing to say a word, and he couldn't help but frown. "It can't be done; that's impossible."

Don't kid yourself; that thing isn't an airplane; it's magic. He's never seen a plane that can break the sound barrier and stop on a dime. At this point, if someone told him it was a broom, he'd believe it.

Minister Shi of the equipment department nodded slightly, signaling that he was familiar with this.

Just after the batwing shot into the sky, it flipped backward in a way that defied physics, moving as gracefully as an Olympic gymnast. It maintained breakneck speed, heading straight for Laitos. The hidden machine gun ports on either side of the wings opened up, and the super-fast machine guns unleashed special warheads made by Wayne Technology.

These are the only unconventional warheads used by the Batwing in the DC universe. When Wayne Enterprises first initiated the project, they believed it could penetrate all known armor on the planet. The development team boasted that this ammo would make depleted uranium bombs obsolete.

However, this project was ultimately abandoned due to technical challenges and the outrageous cost of a single round. It wasn't until their wealthy and bored chairman secretly took on the project, developed it privately, and optimized the formula that the Batwing became the only aircraft in the world armed with this unheard-of super weapon.

But now, it was pouring firepower toward a super-living target nearly 100 feet tall.

Laitos's outer body was entirely composed of a structure that Li Changcheng referred to as the "Tis Shield." While its purity couldn't match the peak due to an incomplete resurrection, it should still be able to withstand any damage.

However, when the warheads from the fast machine guns rained down on it, Laitos felt a horrifying pain. It could sense that the Tis Shield was melting and tearing apart, with intense pain radiating from the points of impact across its body.

Laitos was furious.

Can humans actually hurt it?

Those humans who had been submissive and humble since ancient times, so lowly that they didn't even dare to look directly at it?

It took this all very seriously. As a barrage of bullets swept across it, the batwing pulled up, trailing flames. But the craters left on Laitos's dark surface were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"Can hurt" is a relatively broad concept. It just means the Batwing's firepower can break through its defenses, but it doesn't account for Laitos's future self-healing capabilities.

Overall, even the super machine gun of the Batwing could only inflict pain. It's like a mosquito biting a wound on a person's body; it can irritate, but it can't really cause any harm.

But this was enough to make Lytos furious. This was the first time it had been injured by a human being since it could remember. Its one eye stared at the flying batwing in mid-air, as if it wanted to remember the only human who had hurt it.

It shot an arm again.

It couldn't catch the batwing, but it had experience. A large number of tentacles erupted from the monster's open palm, like vines growing at super speed, a chaotic mess that bloomed all over the sky. Countless tentacles chased after the batwing, creating the illusion of a net in the air. From the ground, it seemed like the sky was covered by endless tentacles, so thick that even the wind couldn't blow through them.

Many watching this scene felt their hearts race.

But soon they realized that worrying was unnecessary.

From Chu Cheng's perspective on the screen, this dense network wasn't as scary as it appeared to others. Maybe it was the influence of the neural network linked to the batsuit. He could also see danger warnings during the fight. He just needed to dodge according to the prompts on the screen.

The batwing flipped acrobatically, almost defying all aerodynamic laws, moving in two completely opposite directions to avoid the tentacles behind it. Just as the next tentacle was about to reach it, a series of machine gun bullets fired, and the Kryptonian gold warhead unleashed overwhelming power, successfully repelling the tentacle.

In the end, the Batwing flew through the crisscrossing tentacles like a butterfly flitting among flowers, showcasing remarkable agility and evasion—it could be called Spider-Man among fighters.

The monster-like performance of the Batwing and the neural link assistance of the Batman armor, along with Batman's high technology and combat experience, made it impossible to achieve such incredible movements without them.

Oh, by the way, the hand speed of the players behind the screen and their refined skills from various games were also crucial. All of these elements provided players the chance to execute these actions within the game framework. But whether these actions could be completed and to what extent depended on the player's own skills.

Fortunately, Chu Cheng was really good at playing games.

The corner of Chu Cheng's mouth turned upwards, feeling that the batwing flying on the screen became more comfortable to operate.

This is just a warm-up.

As the strongest killer in the Batcave and Chu Cheng's most powerful trump card in the entire game pool, it still has more surprises that have not been revealed.

No need to renew your life; pass the level with one life!
