Rong Nian heard her words, but didn't feel happy about them. He always felt a desolate sadness, much like when the hare dies and the fox mourns.
He lowered his gaze, his eyes intently roving over Jiang Xi's face, finally landing on her slightly pursed red lips.
He leaned down and kissed her on the lips.
"I'm going on a business trip for a few days, you wait for me to come back, okay?"
Curiosity got the better of Jiang Xi, "Where are you going on your business trip? The company doesn't seem to have any travel plans recently."
"Personal reasons," Rong Nian released her and picked up the windbreaker from the coat rack to put it on.
With his height and long legs, the dark gray windbreaker gave him an imposing aura befitting a boss.
Upon hearing his response, Jiang Xi knew he would not tell her the destination. She pursed her lips and, pushing her luggage, went out.
This delay meant Jiang Xi was now too late to take Jiang Doudou to kindergarten.
