Chapter 4 The Life of a Baby_1

When Situ Xin cried, it clenched the hearts of three people in the hospital room. All three busied themselves trying to soothe Situ Xin. Loo Yaxin was also woken by her daughter's crying. "Haotian, is the Baby crying?" Loo Yaxin asked weakly. "Yaxin, were you woken by the Baby's crying?" Situ Haotian heard his wife's voice and hurried to the hospital bed, then propped a pillow behind her as she indicated. Then he said, "It seems like the Baby is hungry." "Then Dad, hand the Baby over to me, I will breastfeed her," Loo Yaxin gestured for her father-in-law to give her the child. Old Master Situ had been holding Situ Xin ever since he took her and hadn't let go. This was a privilege that only Situ Xin, his granddaughter, had; he wouldn't even touch those grandsons of his.

It was not until Situ Xin was held in the arms of her mother in this life that she realized newborns need to drink breast milk. At this thought, Situ Xin was taken aback, and before she could react, she was already being fed. Initially, Situ Xin was quite resistant, but by the time she realized, she was already drinking the breast milk. Moreover, it actually tasted quite good, completely different from what she had imagined. Tasting its flavor, Situ Xin opened up and ate eagerly.

Situ Haotian, watching from the side, saw the little one eating with her eyes closed, moving her mouth vigorously, and eating happily. Seeing this, his heart softened. And as Situ Xin drank the breast milk, she fell asleep while drinking.

When Situ Xin next awoke, it was because she needed to urinate. However, still groggy, Situ Xin completely forgot she was now an infant; she was about to get up and go to the bathroom. But after struggling for a long time, she still could not get up. Hearing the commotion, Situ Haotian quickly went to Situ Xin's crib. Upon arrival, Situ Haotian saw his daughter's little hands and feet moving non-stop, and she was making dissatisfied "hmm, hmm" noises. Situ Haotian thought his daughter was so adorable.

After a long struggle to get up with no success, Situ Xin fully awoke. Only then did she remember she was reborn as an infant. At this point, Situ Xin stopped moving her hands and feet. There was nothing she could do, no matter how much she moved. But she still needed to use the toilet. Helpless, Situ Xin could only start crying loudly a few times.

Situ Xin hadn't expected that her crying would lead to her wetting the bed, which left her at a loss for words, "I've actually wet the bed." After waking up, all Situ Xin could think about was her need to urinate, completely oblivious to the fact that she could now open her eyes and see things around her.

By the bedside, her father, Situ Haotian, was watching his daughter with great interest and only belatedly realized that his precious daughter's eyes were open. Just as Situ Haotian was about to rejoice, he saw his daughter pouting and about to cry. As soon as he saw his beloved daughter crying, he completely forgot the fact that Situ Xin had opened her eyes and hurriedly picked her up, trying to console her incessantly. But Situ Xin gave him no face, continuing to cry out loud. This drove Situ Haotian to the brink of panic, fearing that the baby might be uncomfortable somewhere. In her heart, Situ Xin was also very anxious, constantly muttering to herself, "How can daddy be so silly, I need to change my diaper."

As both father and daughter were fretting, two elderly people walked in. "Oh, why is my granddaughter crying?" Situ Xin, hearing the voice of an old madam, finally felt relieved, knowing that someone might understand what she wanted, "Mom, you're here. I don't know what to do, the baby keeps crying and nothing seems to soothe her. Could it be that the baby is uncomfortable somewhere?" Situ Haotian said worriedly. "Let me hold her," the old madam took Situ Xin from Situ Haotian, and after checking her diaper, she came to a sudden realization. "It's alright, the diaper is wet, that's why the baby is crying." As she spoke, the old madam laid Situ Xin on a small bed to change her diaper. Situ Xin, lying on her back on the small bed, let the old madam change her diaper. Situ Xin felt embarrassed when she saw her father in this life and a kindly old grandfather both watching her getting her diaper changed without blinking. She wanted to resist, but she didn't have the ability to do so.

After the diaper was changed, Situ Xin realized that she could indeed open her eyes and see things around her. However, her field of vision was limited. Even so, Situ Xin was very happy. Thinking that she could finally see the outside world, she opened her eyes wide. Since she was lying on the bed, she could only move her eyes to look at the things around her. The first person Situ Xin saw was a kindly old madam. Although she was old and had wrinkles on her face, one could vaguely discern that the old madam must have been a beauty when she was young. By then, Situ Xin had figured out that this old madam must be her grandmother in this life. Old Madam Loo noticed that her granddaughter was looking at her and realized that the child could now see. Overjoyed, she said, "Look, the baby's eyes are open, and she's looking at me right now." As she spoke, she gazed back into Situ Xin's eyes, "Such bright eyes, so full of spirit. They melt my heart." Situ Xin's eyes appeared especially lively due to her spiritual energy.

Upon hearing Old Madam Loo's words, Old Master Loo and Situ Haotian finally noticed that Situ Xin's eyes were open. After observing her grandmother, Situ Xin turned her eyes to the left of her grandmother. There was a very handsome man. Although he was good-looking, he didn't carry the air of a scholar but had the subtle characteristics of a military man. Situ Xin admired internally, "Hmm, my dad is good. I am quite satisfied." While Situ Xin's gaze shifted to Situ Haotian, he was also intently looking at Situ Xin, his eyes filled with fondness. Situ Xin smiled at Situ Haotian. "The baby smiled at me, yay!" Situ Haotian was thrilled to see his daughter smiling at him. "Really? Let me see," said Old Master Loo, who couldn't sit still any longer. His granddaughter had smiled at his son-in-law but had not smiled at him yet. As he approached Situ Xin, he said, "Baby, I'm your grandpa. Come on, give grandpa a smile." Situ Xin found Old Master Loo's request quite speechless, wondering why her grandfather would ask her to smile as if she were paid to. Nonetheless, upon seeing the eager expectation in the old man's face, she couldn't bring herself to disappoint her own grandfather, so she generously gave Old Master Loo a smile.
