When Arun sat up straight, he looked around, only to realize that their camp was in what looked like a battlefield. There were multiple corpses of monsters and beasts sprinkled all around the camp. And as Adam was covered in blood from bottom to top, it didnt take him long to connect the dots together.
"You saved me," he said.
The old man didnt look amused, "A part of me wanted to throw you down the river. But I refrained from doing so because I knew that I would need you,"
"Thanks?"
The old man then asked, "How are you feeling by the way?"
"Fine," he said while standing up, "My muscles feel a little tense. But other than that… I am fine."
"I suggest you get your bearing back together as soon as possible. Only then would you be able to survive your tortuous upcoming days"
Arun didnt get what the old man was trying to say, "What do you mean?"
