The mountains were very different from what Arun had imagined them to be. He thought that these mountains would be crawling with life, and would be the source of all the greenery in this world.
Instead, he was greeted with brown mountain ranges, with no plant or flower in sight. He did spot some brown bushes, but they were not useful to him as they didnt bear any fruit. The place was not only cold, but also for some reason, it also had sand in a few of the places. He was in a cold desert of some sort, and he didnt know where to go from there.
It didnt help that he didnt have food and water supplies because he never imagined this place to be such. And in his defense, even Adam failed to tell him the truth about this place. So there he was, hungry and dehydrated, looking for any sort of civilization. Instead, he found himself aimlessly wandering from mountain to mountain.
