The relationship is making progress

I sat beside Aurelia with butterflies fluttering around in my stomach. I hadn't expected Aurelia to come with me. I had been shocked when I had asked for someone to take me to the Silver Oak and was told that due to increased security, the sub-commander had to approve my outing.

So I had stalked my way to Aurelia's office and had planned on demanding she allow me to go to the orphanage, but the second I'd opened the door, my bravery had faded. Aurelia was dressed in her dark fighting leathers with only a few blades on her.

The sight of her had left me tongue-tied. Her dark hair had been pulled back. Her sharp red eyes had watched me as if I were prey. I had been beyond shocked when Aurelia had not only approved my outing but decided she would come along, too.

"If visiting orphans is something that is a passion for you, then maybe I should become involved as well." Was this a sign she was coming around to the notion that we belonged together? I could only hope.
