Rye knew the exact moment his gaze slid down her face to her chest, as he leaned closer until she could feel his breath on her neck.

Hot and steamy sending shivers down her spine as she felt him lean his muscles against her bosom.

“You want me! You can deny it but I can feel it through the bond we share,”

“Klas!” Rye gasped pushing against him with her eyes closed.

Her eyes snaped open, shocked to feel him pull away something she was convinced he would never do.

“FINE!” His deep voice echoing through the desolate mansion they stood in, after he sent all the servants off.

“I’ll give you five seconds to leave Rye. After that, if you’re still here, I’ll make you regret ever pushing me away.”

“One…”

“Wha-what?”

“Two…”

Rye knew she should leave. Sleeping with Klas was something she had sworn never to do. They were just using each other. She needed his blood, and he needed her to remove the chains that bound his powers.

Yet, the pleasure that thrummed through her body when he had kissed her was unforgettable.

“Four…”

In a panic, Rye finally found the strength to move but by then it was already too late and she saw it in his eyes just as she moved to walk past him.

A cruel glint that made her wish she left when she had the chance to.

The plan was for the both of them to work together and get what they wanted.

Him-the throne.

Her- the blue stone that would send her back to the human world.

Rye had no idea when the plan changed and less how to adjust to it.

Rye would have liked to wait and listen more but she couldn't as she needed to follow along with the others without leaving any space between them, yet what she heard was more than enough to understand Klas's predicament.

"It might not be as bad as the rumors though. You know how exaggerated they can be," Holi told her, glad to see how calm Rye was regardless of what she had just heard.

It meant that even if her bond died, it wouldn't affect her as much as people who were separated from their bond after years of being together.

'Especially since the closer bonded people are to each other the more difficult it is to break,' Holi thought to herself as she continued to watch Rye, determined to keep an eye on her.

"You're right. Rumors are always exaggerated and the Beast can't be as deadly as they all said," Rye sighed as she continued walking forward into the side entrance meant for the VIPs who would be sitting in front.
