Fiona stood there, her heart pounding as she watched Kisaki disappear into the night. The air was thick with tension, but the battle had been short-lived. She heaved a sigh of relief, knowing that if the fight had gone on, there would have been casualties. And she couldn't let that happen, not when she was there to protect someone.

Seth finally broke the silence, his voice laced with a sense of familiarity. "Fiona, what are you doing here? And how do you know that strange man?"

She turned to face him, meeting his gaze head-on. "He's a friend from work," she said, her voice calm and collected.

Ethan stood there beside Seth, his expression guarded. Fiona nodded in his direction, acknowledging him. "Hey, Ethan."

He responded with a reluctant wave. There was history between them. Sexual history. Seth knew nothing of this beforehand, but their expressions after exchanging greetings made it obvious. He rolled his eyes, but said nothing.
